Just got my car back from HHP after having a number of mods done over the last two weeks. I now have two tunes and two Metco pulleys, a low boost 93 Octane tune and pulley that puts out 820 wheel horsepower and 665 ft lbs of torque at wheel and the monster E85 High Boost tune and pulley with 945 wheel horsepower and 823 ft lbs of torque. I have put a lot of time and money into this car and now have had HHP work their magic installing the parts I did not want to do myself along with the dyno tuning. I have attached a pic of one of the dyno sheets showing both tunes on the same graph. Out of all of the parts I have installed I was really surprised that the Kooks Longtube headers and Green Catted mid pipes connected to an AWE resonated touring exhaust didn't really increase the exhaust sound as much as I thought it would. I would have been good either way but I think I'm more happy that it didn't make it too loud as I drive the car a lot during the week in good weather. Is there anyone here with similar dyno results? I would be interested in comparing mods if so. From what I have learned there are several ways to get to these kind of power numbers so it would be interesting to see how similar or different the set-ups are.

Robert, I have heard a lot of different things but most people agree several months is no problem as long as it isn't in the middle of winter. I will likely run the E85 set up when at the track, roll racing, or doing half mile events mainly in the summer as the cars do not start well in cold weather with good quality E85. What was really amazing to me is on the low boost set up I am running essentially a factory sized pulley and the extra boost and power comes from the porting and polishing of the supercharger, the thermal spacers (which help increase boost), the long tube headers, and the other assorted fuel/air mods. As it sits when running the 93 tune, I am spinning the supercharger the normal factory speed but seeing 16 pounds of boost and 820 plus wheel horsepower and 665 ft lbs of torque without stressing the supercharger. Now you can get to those same numbers with a 93 tune with less mods and money spent, but it will require spinning the supercharger faster which means a faster wear rate. If I had to do it over, I might have gone to a triple fuel pump set up instead of the Kenne Bell Dual Boost-A-Pump but I have heard so many people say the boost a pump works well indefinitely I stuck with it. The only little concern I have with my car is the driveshaft and axles, as they are the stock Redeye/Demon units. However, the guys at High Horse Performance told me I would be fine with the stock units unless I was going to take this to the drag strip every weekend which I am not. I was more than willing to spend the money but was told it would be kind of a waste and that there have been too many complaints on the 1-piece driveshaft causing vibration and noise issues on mainly street-driven cars.

I am not going boost a pump as its a failure point done the road. I will be doing rear suspension and aftermarket axels as I want to drag race most of the time. E85 is in parts of Maryland where I am at but not all areas. But I am going this route.

Keeps us posted on your build. Again nice job.

Why does the torque fall off a cliff at 5500 rpm? That looks like a massive hole in the tune or the supercharger's efficiency drops off dramatically.

motorhead mike, That is just how this engine and supercharger rolls man. Its not a high revving motor. The "cliff" is from 5700 rpm where it is like 815 ft lbs to a low of about 760 ft lbs at the redline of 6500 rpm. That is just 55 ft lbs man, it is still a ridiculous amount of torque. All the while that is dropping about 55 ft lbs at the redline the horsepower is climbing from about 870 to 940, an increase of 70 HP. Nothing is free you know what I mean? There is no such thing as a perfect hp/torque curve, there is always some trade off with supercharged motors. You could probably tune it to be less of a drop but then you wouldn't be getting 800 ft lbs or torque at at an incredibly low 3500 rpm. Looking at this dyno I think is a perfect example of how spinning the supercharger faster will get you a lot more power but only to certain point where it becomes inefficient. If you look at the low-boost 93 curve below it you can see how flat the torque curve is at a lower increase in boost (supercharger spinning a good bit slower) however it never hits the peaks that the high boost set up does.

Robert, Thank you for the compliment. I have to agree on the Boost-a-pump. I probably won't run it indefinitely but there are many many people who swear by it and say that our factory Redeye fuel pumps are as good as any pump out there. Ill probably switch to the 3 pump unit next year and maybe do the driveshaft at that point too. If it wasn't for the HHP guys talking me out of both of those parts it I would have had them do them both while they had it. Maybe another year of DSS perfecting the design might get rid of the vibration issues I have read and heard about. If you are going to have a weak point in the driveline the axle is where I would want it to be. An axle is a lot cheaper and easier fix than a differential exploding or a driveshaft that breaks loose and spins around like a wrecking ball. On a side note about E85, there are maybe 6 or 7 gas stations in Lexington, Ky. that carry it. I will be going to several of them tomorrow with a testing kit to see who has the best quality currently. Hopefully at least one of them will have some good stuff so I'm not stuck ordering a 55 gallon drum for 700 bucks. Id rather not have a 55 gallon drum of fuel in my already crowded garage! I highly recommend the AAD billet suspension parts. I already had the AAD trailing arms that I had installed several months ago, they added the other two upper control arms and adjustable toe links and the planted feeling they give the car is really impressive. You can feel the difference immediately. the rear just feels so much better firmly planted, and when you get on it the car squats and hauls it! You are making the right decision going E85, combined with the FI Interchiller supercharger thermal barrier and spacers the engine runs sooooo much cooler and from a 50 or 60 roll the car is scary fast like there are a set of rocket engines strapped to either side. It is just plain ridiculous! I took it on the interstate today and did multiple pulls and the temps never even got where it used to be just daily driving it easy. Good luck with your build. If you have any questions on down the road feel free to send me a message and Ill help if I can.

Well my new wheels are finally on the way to me. 17x11" Weld 3 piece forged S80 Rear Beadlocks and 20x8 S80 Fronts (Mid Width Fronts for 1/2 Mile and 1 Mile Roll Racing). I have been waiting months for them and they were sup to be done at the end of August. Also have BMR Driveshaft loop to install. Already have the 315/50R17 MT ET Street R's for the rear and 245/45R20 MT Street Comps for the front. Didn't want to go full skinny so I could safely do pulls on highways and airstrip events. I cant freaking wait to the get these tires on the rear to see what 950 wheel horsepower feels like when it hooks at 50 or 60 mph instead of spinning.
