Nope was for the Weld Ventura 5s, the D5s I have are on the rears. They're still showing 19lbs on website they should correct it.
Nope was for the Weld Ventura 5s, the D5s I have are on the rears. They're still showing 19lbs on website they should correct it.Did they quote you the weight of a forged RTS rather than the cast D5? Your "all in" price of @ $1.5k is @ $1k less than what the forged version would cost.
Yes that is a fact since they weigh 25lbs, but to be fair they are probably only going by what they were told. I didn't even see that they listed the weight, just saw that when I looked.I think dragdacingwheels has bad intel. I don't believe Welds lists weights on their site.
Guess I'll have to take my ass to the gym and drop the other 12 lbs.!!!!! LolThe Weld 20x5 wheels showed up today, very pretty indeed, but they weigh substantially more than the quoted 19 lbs ☹.

On my scale they come in at approximately 25.3lbs.

Ad that to the tire weight of approximately 17lbs 9.8oz, View attachment 591043
Makes for an approximate weight of the wheel and tire combo of 43.3 lbs.
Compare that to my factory forged 5 spoke 20x9.5 wheel, with Pzero 275/40/20 tire,
It weighs in on the same scale at approximately 58lbs 8oz.
That makes a savings of approximately 15.5 lbs per wheel and tire combo, for total 31lbs of rotating mass, plus the lower rolling resistance of the much skinnier tire.
The cost of the set for me was $1504, plus mounting and balancing.
I'm kind of torn on this if the wheels had indeed weighed in at 19lbs the savings would have been 43lbs total, which is what I was counting on, an I'd be thrilled.
But at 31lbs, approximately a 28% increase in weight, while still good with it I'm less than enthusiastic.
Now you're going to far 🤣Guess I'll have to take my ass to the gum and drop the other 12 lbs.!!!!! Lol
Not yet waiting on the TPMS sensors to show up. When I had the rim mounted on the car I could see that they will be flush to the outer fender lip and fill it up nicely (not set in like stock skinnies on demon for example).Got any pics on the car yet Ron?
Dead end, weighs 23lbs, needs spacers and is 9.5 not 9.I'm waiting to hear back from a guy that makes lightweight forged wheels that claims his 20x9 weighs in at 20lbs, definitely going to want proof this time and an actual price on those.
Will do, what are they quoting you on the job?Take a look at the Pirelli P Zero in 215/45/20. 22 lbs & good height / width specs. I’m leaning this direction for tires & sending some spare wheels to WeldCraft to narrow.
I have not Quoted this yet but past work (widening wheels) has been $250 - $300 per wheel. A++ workmanship & customer service. Will do, what are they quoting you on the job?
Thanks for all.your work! Here's where all the weight is coming from, that's a huge center hub. The spokes are about 3 mm thicker than my D5s as well.

After looking at several other custom wheel options, all of which weighed more than advertised (asked to see them on a scale, fool me once and all that), required spacers, or weighed more than 25lbs, I've decided these are still the best way to go.
The lighter tires are also a good way to go if you already have a spare pair of rims to use, but cost of the lightweight Mopar wheels are more than these so didn't go that route.
I'll have mine mounted and post some pics as soon as the TPMS sensors show up.
I'm happy that Weld came up with a solution and appreciate their efforts and hopefully they will translate into quicker ETs. Will let you know on that front as well.
