I walked away last night, but maybe i'm not sure I should have.

21 Smoke Show Challenger Redeye non-wide body (sticker is $83,xxx). Dealer originally had $10k adjustment on it, selling me vehicle for $87,995 minus the $2k rebate, net price to me $85,995 (plus tags, tax, etc).

I realize many vehicles out there have adjustments on them due to inventory shortage, fine. There are cars advertised all over the country at MSRP ...

Should I not fret over a couple thousand $$$ and buy local? Someone talk some sense into me please.

You'll probably get a variety of responses and recommendations. $85.9 out the door isn't too bad. I just sold my RE WB to Vroom for $74 and ordered another one in Smoke-Show which will be $89. And then I'll have to pay $6K in state taxes. I could have waited to trade it, but the dealership wouldn't guarantee any price. They offered $68 right now, but guessed that the value would drop in the future as the chip shortage was cleaned up. So I took the sure thing with Vroom.

I'd look at it this way, you buy it and then you'll have one. Smoke-Show is my favorite color. The price isn't bad. Life is short. I'd go for it.

Man- just buy the damn thing. If you posted this thread - you know you want it . Just go buy it and forget about it.
Some rep and manager are going to get. A slightly bigger commission, the dealer will make a bit more profit - it’s all cyclical . Abundance bro! You don’t buy these cars to save money.

For a NB?? No effn way would I pay 85K for a NB anything. That price is horrible. You certainly did the right thing. Far better deals are out there even with the shortage.

When I bought my 19’ Redeye WB new on the lot it had 2 options.. was Triple Nickel red seat belts and .309 gears.. the MSRP was 80k. I got 8000 off power dollars and 8000 dealer discount. Bringing the price to 64k. I got the car for under 70k out the door. I actually know someone might have been slow poke I think he got like 10k dealer rebate and 8k off. Crazy how fast these deals dried up. When I bought that Redeye the guy comes back with the pricing and looks at me he’s like “Man Your Practically stealing this Car” 😂

Now I got 9000 miles on her and I could sell the car for as much as I paid for it. That’s what I call a deal 😄

That's amazing. Was that price already agreed to or was that what you negotiated when the car was delivered to the dealership?
Agreed to when i ordered it. Call Jake at Dan Cummins Dodge in Paris Ky. They will do 4% under invoice plus rebates with a $599 dealer fee. My rebate was $4k but i think they are $2k now.

Yeah, I would have to agree on walking away from that... my car stickered for $87k with all the options and I paid about $75k for it with the Power Dollars and discount from the dealer. Mind you, my car is loaded for a NB. I would not pay that kind of price for anything less than a widebody.

You can order a 21 Super Stock in Smoke Show for basically 82k brand new from the factory.... just sayin..

You did the right thing! You should not be paying over sticker at all. there are people here (I included) who can point you in the direction of a place to buy Redeye/Hellcat's under MSRP. I bought a 2021 Redeye Widebody from Dodge.com in March with every feature except sunroof and perf. spoiler for 80K on the nose (11.5K under MSRP). Don't ever pay over MSRP. You should be paying UNDER MSRP when Dodge is giving incentives out.

I'd have walked away. Never pay more than MSRP. You made a good decision. Order one from Jake just the way you want it or keep looking.
