Hey fellow hellcat/Super Stock owners. I have a 2021 Super Stock that has had no issues at all (except the ever present rear end howl) that shows itself on ever SRT vehicle I have ever owned. The other day I noticed that when moving from a stop, there is a semi loud “speaking” from full stop to about 5 miles per hour. It will do it 3 out of 4 times. Sounds like a loud dry rubber squeaking. It doesn’t vary its either there and easy to hear with the radio off, or not there at all. When it is doing it, you can maintain about 5 miles per hour and it will continue the sound until stopped again. Just an obvious sort of “eeeeeeeek.” If you could imagine a rubber ball pinched between the drive shaft and chassis rubbing when the car moves slowly, thats about the sound it seems to make. Did a glancing look under the car and nothing is obvious. Gonna jack it up and look good this evening. The weird part is its either on or off. Again, she does it loudly 3, 4 or 5 times in a row. Then nothing at all. The volume doesn’t vary in between. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I know that car isn't that old, but first thing that comes to mind is u joint. Not probable, but possible. You don't think it's brakes?
This was one of my first thoughts too. But it doesn’t seem brake related at all. Different sound entirely. Also tried doing it with a little brake pressure, Emergency brake on and off, etc. Doesn’t affect the sound at all. Not gonna be able to jack it up until tomorrow to better inspect. Fortunately it is happening at such a slow speed, I should be able to spin the tires and driveshaft by hand and tell where its coming from. Sounds just like rubber squeaking.

Wow… I finally jacked it up today and it is amazing that it did not fly apart on me. The driveshaft has so much play in it, it flops back and forth in the middle about 1” or more! Can’t see more without taking the foil type covers off under the driveshaft. I am not, as this will be a warranty issue all the way! Apparently these have a two piece shaft. I can’t see it, but from the front of the driveshaft or the back, you can make the middle wobble bad. I am taking it in for the dreaded dealer repair. But thank God it did not come apart on me. Especially as I enjoy torquing it up so much. I am sure it has ruined trans tail-shaft bearing and the rear end bearing because of the incredible amount of play/slop it has.

So glad you found it before it came apart or got worse. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Let us know exactly what it turned out being so I can definitely check mine!!
