This would be news to me. In all likelihood, they're confusing the GT AWD and assuming the Hellcat has it too. If the 2022 Charger Hellcat came with an AWD options 1) EVERYONE would drop their current cars (me included) and order an AWD REWB. 4 305s with AWD, yes please! And 2) Everyone would be talking about it (even the Corvette, Mustang and Camaro people).

Buuuuut, crickets from the entire auto world community on the topic... so...

2022 order banks have opened and there have been no announcements or anyone ordering one. This wouldve been a giant announcement if it were true. Does make the mind wander and wonder though. What if Dodge was planning on making an awd Hellcat option for one year only in 2023 as a swan song model? What a great way to put a stamp on it on the way out.

I still think the existing AWD system has potential for some determined modifier. One can put in a Gleason torque-biasing differential to limit front wheel torque to a survivable level, I think.

The article cites a forum post from the Charger Forums about Police Pursuit vehicles that have the AWD system and the 5.7 Hemi. I think they drank a little too much and got some wires crossed.

I'm sure the AWD system could be fitted to a Hellcat, but I have severe doubts on Dodge being able to fit a beefy enough version to the car to prevent it from exploding on the first hard launch. It would be worth the work for a hell of a swan song AWD Hellcat, but I can't see it happening.

Me too, it was only 707 HP, and the 797 RE appeared two years ago so his simple fact checking was way off.

This is one of the ways you can make money online, just rewrite articles under some catchy news name about stuff you nothing about and people will click on it and you get paid. You gotta love it.

Old reply but me too, if awd 5.7 not in cop spec were still an option I might have gone that route and took my chance with a blower.
