Oddly this did not come with my Redeye/Hellcat/JailBreak Charger. According to Mopar there is no hard copy either (puzzling?). After not being able to find anything in the glove box manual (idiot book) on my new vehicle Mopar sent me this PDF. Also I could not find it on the owners website??? Note the engine break-in procedure and 4 hour differential fluid recommended changes for track days! I hope this is useful to all.

Thanks for posting. I saw someone posted this a while back and it reminded me:
What does the engine care how fast your going?
I understand limiting revs and cylinder pressures and all but below 55? Why?

If I had to guess, that is for the transmission and ring and pinion break in..... hypoid gears in the differential are in sliding contact, not rolling contact like most gear sets, they mate like a flat tappet (lifter) cam. The 4-hour interval for track time on the differential fluid change indicates to me that that gear set is highly stressed. Also, the 55 MPH keeps the piston speeds down and the loads lower on the engine during cruise....as you stated. A more detailed description from the engineers at Mopar would have been nice. I set my performance pages to the 500HP limit during the break in, just as a little margin.

All the more reason for magnetic drain plugs and early break-in fluid changes.

The interesting issue is that it is hard to get a good initial ring seal when the cylinder pressures and RPM are so low. The recommend break in the old days before more precision finishing would surely result in glazed cylinders. The finishing processes now must be far superior. There also seems to be a debate as to whether ALL these engines are broken in on a dyno at the factory.

Just my speculation.

Pretty common now for manufacturers to not provided print manuals, everything is online and gets updated. Not a bad idea to save a PDF and access through an iPad when working on your car, phone screen is a little hard to read. I did get two copies of "the idiot" book for some reason (used 15' original came with car), my biggest complaint with that book is the lack of clearly identifying the jack points, my F***ing side rails are all crimped because some jackass didn't use the spacers.

“For the first 1,500 miles (2,414 km): Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities during the first 1,500 miles (2,414 km).”

😂 whoops. Pretty sure Radford (Bondurant) Racing School and several of us have violated this guideline 😂 @Linda's Hell Cat
:cool::ROFLMAO::cool::ROFLMAO::cool::ROFLMAO: That's Right!

I finished off my 500 miles driving to Challengerfest 2015 from Pa to Kentucky. Shhhhh :sneaky: I floored it over 100 MPH up hill in the mountains passing an 18 wheeler. Stopped for an an oil change on the way there . Next day raced 14 back to back A to B passes in the low 11.0x. That A to B was just so Awesome, because the Trans was not a PITA Nag 1 and No Limp Mode!:D
I Drove back home 800 miles too.
With not even 2,000 miles yet on the speedo I had the 1st Diablo Tune installed. My Dyno was better than Top Cat's maybe because of All The Fasssst Fun!?!

My Hellcat Charger impressed many racer friends at Challengerfest15 and many went out and bought their own Hellcats for racing!

Always Enjoyed the Fassst Fun! :cool:

Linda :)
