Would you rather have a 2022 TRX or a 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat?

Greetings all! Been lurking here a while, monitoring the news on the 2023 DDHC and awaiting order bank opening. Would like opinions from folks that have had experience with both… I currently own a 2022 TRX, but have been seriously thinking about trading it for a new DDHC. My recent vehicles were 2018 and 2020 Raptors, then a 2021 BMW X3M40i and finally the TRX. The pros of the TRX from my perspective, aside from the awesome powertrain, is the interior quality, ride and all the technology… The cons for me personally are that the truck is HUGE and really isn’t as agile as my recent vehicles (I ordered it from Chapman CJDR unseen and undriven, waiting 8 months for delivery). As for the DDHC, I still love how it looks, the performance is outrageous and I’ve read that it is agile and rides great… the cons for me are that it is an aged design, the interior is not as nice as the TRX and the technology (360 camera, HUD, rear view mirror camera) is not available. I guess it’s important to note I don’t NEED a pickup or a 3 row SUV, just really like the AWD Hellcat powertrain. Any input is appreciated!

TRX curb weight 6,396 pounds
DDHC curb weight 5,710 lbs

The Durango is going to feel a bit faster. duh.

If you do most of your driving on paved public roads the Durango is the clear winner.
On the other hand the Durango probably isn't going to be that much fun on sand dunes.

I personally wouldn't buy either one.

I currently have a 22 TRX and a 22 charger hellcat. I personally love having a truck and would keep my TRX over everything if I had to choose because of all the things it can do. I am thinking about trading in my charger for a Durango hellcat, if I can get my hands on one. I love my charger but I absolutely love the AWD hellcat platform. And I love having more room and not having to crawl into a car when I get in.

I tried getting a 21 Durango hellcat and instead got the TRX. I want to be able to haul things for my house in a truck when needed. And I always feel a little cramped when I sit in anything else other than a truck. Just my two sense.

in terms of usability and practicality, a truck will beat ANY other vehicle out there, ANY day. more roomy, taller and better for flooding, snow, dirt, offroad, any conditions really, plus you can haul an tow as needed.

It all depends what you want to do with your vehicles. I personally think the TRX is an overkill for a truck, but if your only vehicle, it is the only way to combine the perks above, plus the HC engine and performance, plus the tech. Game over.

The TRX IS overkill. Glorious, spectacular overkill.

Well...you can get tow mirrors and the "tow package" with the TRX that allows you to use the little nob to back up your trailer. I would surmise towing visibility is much better with the truck. Just saying...

I am a mopar fan boy and have a car addict. I went from a 16 hellcat challenger, to a 19 hellcat challenger redeye, to a 21 TRX and finally to my 22 TRX and hellcat charger. The caveat is I haven't owned or driven a trackhawk or durango hellcat, although I have owned and driven a durango, which I really liked.

The absolute best everyday driver for me is the TRX. Having said that, I am thinking about getting the durango hellcat but I will be keeping my truck. To each their own and much respect for all of these platforms.
