Why does GM care about this? I've heard of this with the Ford GT, iirc...Ford made buyers commit to not re-selling? Why does GM or Ford care about what happens after the initial sale?

IMHO I believe it prevents them from being on the road and giving them exposure. Its also just a generally bad look considering both of them market these high performance american cars towards being affordable for the everyday man.

6 months. And yes. Also the bumper to bumper warranty is voided for the second owner.
