2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat

I am happy to say that I placed my order for a new 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat on 'day one', and already have a VIN. According to my good friend @ the local dealership, he believes that my order was the first one on the books for 2023, with my VIN ending in 000. Either way, I am excited and can't wait to get my hands on it. She will be Destroyer Grey w/ Redline Red/Black stripes, and Demonic Red interior, w/ all available options. I found it interesting that even though I got my VIN, there is no breakdown for price on the POC. I am guessing that prices have gone way up for 2023.

To my Porsche brethren, glad to see I am not the only one who thinks these DDHC are good for hauling german ass around. I Have a 2022 Turbo S Cab, and just ordered a 2023 GT3 tonight (with delivery in April) and I plan to use my 2023 DDHC to tow the GT3 to VIR on the regular. That said, stop talking big about the Porsche tracker app, that POS lied to me SOOOO many times on when my Turbo S was going to be delivered, I started to give up on ever seeing it. Dodge sucks for sure, but I had NUMEROUS push backs on my Turbo S. It was built and taken to port in Dec. 2021, I did not finally get in until Mid March 2022. Here's hoping my 2023 GT3 doesnt turn out to be the same nightmare. That said, I'm betting the GT3, shows up before the 2023 DDHC. I did have the 2021 DDHC, so I already know what to expect out of the 2023... the exact same thing lol.

Do you know something about these That I have not seen? seem to be getting good reviews

Eibach Pro-Kit Performance Lowering Springs (Durango Hellcat)

$416.67 $375.00
yeah look it up, they dont exist. This is for a Jeep SRT/Trackhawk, which might be the same chassis but not the same weight. Where ever you got this from, you didn’t get it off Eibach’s website. The Durango has another 300 lbs? in the rear, so I don’t like tge idea of using the trackhawk springs on the heavier Durango Hellcat. Sure I can buy that the front ends are near identical in weight/use/function, but the rears aren’t so identical in my book. Do your homework…

@Ill_smo_q these are real now. Eibach used a forum member's DDHC to develop them using their Jeep SRT springs as a baseline. These are truly a Durango Hellcat specific set. I think they may be a few months out from full production though.
Yeah but I called them today, and they said 'still not out yet' ... so they might be 'real' I guess but if they wont sell you a set, how exactly does that make them real?
I did not ask for your gmail account, I ask for your Forum Member Name here and specifically "NOT EMAIL" You entered it correctly the second time so you are in there now.

FYI: You still show to be in D status.

Also, I have no affiliation with Stellantis and can only see the same public information everyone else can. I just gather it for ALL Vins and summarize it for the forums.

You can see your own status by using the dodge tracker for your particular order.

Access Denied (dodge.com)
Did I miss the answer on how you keep people informed on their status? Are you saying its nothing more than just keep going back into that one dodge tracker and reentering my information? That's not even accurate, I am in D status, and the site doesnt even tell me that.. (my dealer did week ago).

So upset I trusted a dealer I had made so many previous purchases from. They had always given me good deals pre COVID. They charged me 5k above sticker for mine. And said they charged 15k for others. I trusted them thinking it’s a rare car and no one was gonna sell at MSRP. and now I’m unsure if I can cancel as it’s already built. Even if I got my deposit of 3k back, and I found an allocation near me at sticker. I’d have to hope it doesn’t get cancelled for whatever reason…idk what to do.
Hate to say this, but what about 'flipping it' ?? I mean you'll be one of the FIRST to have it... (to me thats almost worth the $5k, as the rest of us to wait and wait and wait).... BUT as a FIRST delivery car, yours would QUICKLY get snapped up for a premium on 'bring a trailer' or such! So dont rule that out. Maybe buy it, try to flip it, and if that doesnt work, hell enjoy the thing. You got yours FIRST before the rest of us. (And then never use that dealer again).

The buying it and never returning did cross my mind. I’ll probably try and throw a fit, maybe see if they’ll throw in free wheel insurance at least. As wheel damages ge can be expensive. Never thought about flipping it. Good point. I know once in hand even if I couldn’t sell it, I’d be very happy. I’ve never owned a hellcat. (Currently have Scat WB) I LOVE my scat so can’t imagine AWD 710

thanks for the insight!
There is ZERO comparison between the two, lol, IN A GOOD way! You will love the Durango Hellcat. My buddy had both the Hellcat Challenger and the Scat Pack Charger, neither one of them held a candle to my Trackhawk or Durango Hellcat. Even my buddy said he wished he had the money (or wife's approval) to get the 100k Dodges, he asked me 'why cant dodge do this for the challenger/charger lineup?) (He was impressed with their zero 60 AND Superior handling). I said 'because then it will be 100k+ for those cars too'... and was like 'oh yeah good point'

Hedge your bet! Take your order now and trade in on late allocation if they materialize. But DONT risk not having one because someone is GUESSING on what might come. Plus you will have ‘trade bait’ to give the dealer for the right to order another!

I went with silver. For me it was the only logical choice. I had them on my 2021 DDHC, but just hated the reactor blue paint job I originally selected. Hoping this contrast is more pleasing.

well my dealer txt'd me and said they have a 'ship date' of March 1st, and he assumes then a late delivery to me end of March. I know everyone keeps saying dont trust the dodge website, but its odd that if they car is shipping in less than a week, they wouldnt say 'in production' yet. Or even what the scheduled start date is. Oh well, just excited to get it! This is looking more likely that I can use my own car (and trailer), to go get my 2023 Porsche GT3! Dodge FOR THE WIN! on getting me theirs first.... well maybe... and they did technically have way more time. Since I ordered it in November 22.

Since I ordered mine 5 days prior I think the right thing to do is let me use yours until ours is done. I’ll shoot you my address. Thanks
lol, I dont know many who beat my order, Nov 14, 2022. When did you order yours? (Above I was saying Month/Year, not Month/Day).

Thanks for this. Basically my build but with stripes. Some bummers but rather just have the car. Thank you!
I honestly think the stripes will have a strong impact on this configuration. I absolutely agree, its WAY too basic in this configuration. It doesnt look special at all.

Why am I buying this? Lol. Looks so plain Jane.
The DDHC in general or this is ACTUALLY your car config? I think this is the most boring example of it, I have seen. It needs stripes for sure.

Not looking forward to that red interior. Thankfully I have black in my 21 Trackhawk and 22 Durango SRT 392!
I have NEVER wanted a red interior in ANY car, this still holds true today. Someone complained that its sad they didnt add the red to the doors.... I'd say I'm grateful. Assuming at some point I wanted to change out my RED seats for black ones. The less crap I have to swap out to make that happen the better. BUT even if I didnt do that, the LESS red in there, ALSO the better (I probably will NOT be doing an interior swap.). Those ugly ass red seats are the reason I went with red car. Only RED or Black can pull those off. All other colors, I honestly feel like its a 'jail break gone wrong' Hell I am not even sold that RED on RED interior with RED seatbelts and RED Calipers is even going to be able to pull it off (especially since all the reds are different colors).

Oh well, time to drive it like i stole it and not give a F.

As a 2021 original owner, and a 2023 ordered (soon to be owner). I would DEFINITELY rather have ordered my 2021 in RED with Silver stripes, and kept all other options (actually added the center coucil thing in the second row). Because its clear Dodge did NOTHING additional for the 2023. So there, I said it, the 2021 was definitely a better deal. But I cant change my past order, and I hated 'reactor blue' and so it had to go. 2023 is a 'reset' button for me. And I am still sad I cant get the TVs anymore, and I hate that it wont have the headliner and I hate that its a mandatory red interior (until I see it and decide otherwise). BUT I also think SOME of you are also just talking sheet, trying to find a reason to feel your used 2021's were better/are better than a new 2023. That I dont agree with. I'd MUCH rather have a 2023 NEW, than say a 5k miles 2021 USED. I dont like the risk of used cars. Lastly, if the Frostbite Blue ends up being a stunner, I'll even trade in my 2023 Red for a 2023 blue, and then 2023 will definitely be the winner in my book, because the 2021 blue is crap to me... A guy who has bought way more blue cars than probably anyone else on this forum.

Enjoy the 2023, who cares if they make a 2024 (hell I'll probably get one of those too IF they give me those damn TVs and a kick ass blue). No car is for everyone. There are pros/cons to the 2021 vs 2023. Anyone who cant live with a new 2023, I encourage you to go get a used 2021. You'll be a few years behind on warranty, but who cares. (Yes you can extend it, but so can the 2023 for even more).

As a fellow Octane buyer I believe you and I have made the best choice when it comes to colors that pop. The red by itself is a good looking deep, rich color. Add the stripes to that and visually it should be a stunner. Black stripes are good but the muted look just wasn’t what we wanted. Other than that I believe white with blue or red stripes is also good but we have a white 335i so I wasn’t looking for another Moby Dick in the garage.
Yup, I had my Jeep Trackhawk in Octane, and my ONLY complaint was 'I WISH there was something I could do to show the contrast, to make this REALLY pop.' A Jeep with 'dodge' stripes wouldnt have looked right, so I never did that. But I absolutely agree, the Octane with silver stripes is probably going to have all the presence I want, and then... maybe then... it not being Blue is no longer an issue. I'll know in about 1 months time, per my dealer!

As someone who has the Frostbite blue in the charger. You would def love it. It’s a stunner. The color in the sun is gorgeous. That being said. With the demonic red seats. Unsure how that’ll blend. Either way win win for you I’m sure!
Well at that point, I would assume they allowed for the 'black' seats. Else you are correct. Zero chance I would do black/Red interior on a Blue Suv.
Well, trackhawks were hellcats, and you werent supposed to call them hellcats. Guys, who cares about these logos? I mean clearly some of you do. But I could care less. I had the ones you all seem to love on my 2021, and I never noticed them much after the first time. Who reads their seats on a daily basis? I have a Porsche GT3, that has GT3 written in its head rest coming, and I bet after I notice its the first time, I'll never give it another thought. My Turbo S Porsche also has 'Turbo S' in the seat headrest, and I had to think about that for a minute to remind myself that it has that too. Dont ruin this experience over silly seats. I mean this. Hell I wanted black seats, and I am getting red, and even that's not bothering me. We bought these for 2-3 reasons for the most part, BEAUTY was not one of them: 1. POWER, 710hp SUV. 2. Three Row Seats 3. The only "hellcat" that can actually put the power down thanks to AWD (besides no longer produced Trackhawks). The rest is mostly irrelevant, else I'd have bought a Porsche, BMW, MB or Tesla SUV. These are not beauty queens, they are fat overpowered pigs.... which scream AMMMMMERICA !!! And I love it for what it is and not what the Europeans are trying to do. (Clearly ALL of this is opinion based, but I for one dont want my fellow Durango Hellcat brothers to get caught up on some trivial stuff, when it should be nothing other than REALLY exciting you are about to get a MONSTER SUV!). Remember its so good, I came back for a second one. First drive, I bet you forget about the seats!!

I paid msrp for mine $105,675 and I know I can flip it for $30k more but that wasn't my original plan but now with red interior no suede headliner I will list it the same day I take delivery my delivery date has came and gone
Where are you seeing these selling 'used' for 30k over? I think you might be surprised thats not happening. Even dealers cant unload an allocation for 30k over. These are fetching 5-10k (realistically), over msrp, with people given the right to order it how they want it. I think realistically you MIGHT be able to pull 10k over mrsp in the 'used' undriven market.. but not $30k. Mine arrives in 2-3 weeks, if I can make 30k on this thing, I'll flip it immediately, and then order one in Frostbite without that damn red interior. (ALTHOUGH, the more I see the black interior, the more I think 'how boring' am I wrong to think the RED is now the better option? (Yikes I know).

I wonder how much this lawsuit will affect current ownership and future manufacturing of any more Dodge Durango Hellcats?
Dodge Durango Hellcat Owners Sue Over New Dodge Durango Hellcat (jalopnik.com)
Well, mine is finally finished production yesterday, now awaiting 'shipped' status. Just as long as I get mine before Dodge decides to 'cease production of 2023 Durango hellcats immediately'. lol. Yes I read the article earlier, thats what they are asking for along with other compensation. THEN I can get that magical 30k over msrp that LamboMike is claiming... lol.

He did actually tell me it got transferred to a yard today which I believe it it should be getting ready to ship soon!

Off Topic- but has anyone looked into Eibach's R&D status on dedicated lowering springs for the DDHC? They made a social media post on IG in November about it finally being in development.
Yes I called them about a week ago. Keep in mind I have been calling them for 2 years now... no kidding. First before my 2021 DDHC arrived, after it arrived, after I sold it, when I ordered my 2023, and then again last week. Same story... its 'close' but not ready yet. They claim it should be ready for pre order in April.
