2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat

I am happy to say that I placed my order for a new 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat on 'day one', and already have a VIN. According to my good friend @ the local dealership, he believes that my order was the first one on the books for 2023, with my VIN ending in 000. Either way, I am excited and can't wait to get my hands on it. She will be Destroyer Grey w/ Redline Red/Black stripes, and Demonic Red interior, w/ all available options. I found it interesting that even though I got my VIN, there is no breakdown for price on the POC. I am guessing that prices have gone way up for 2023.

Here is an excellent drag-racing video of a Durango Hellcat vs. Cadillac Escalade V

To me, it looks soooo odd with the front in the air & the rear squatting that much (the whole time) on the V.
Representative from Dodge customer care confirmed my VIN. Tracking system is not accurate in real time. They said the vehicle is in the process of being sequenced for production. My guess is they won’t start assembly until after March. Possibly delivery April May but who knows. If it’s a worst case scenario it could be July August.
You were the 50th order issued a VIN but that has no bearing on when it will be built, so I wouldnt state it as "in line" since they dont build them in order of VIN sequence
New to this Placed order for DDHC Loaded Nov 12 got phone call from dealer Nov 19th and e mailed me paper from Dodge with order# and Vin# last 8 PC554931 but when I look up it states no vin# issued is this normal?

Depends on what you mean by "look up" If you are meaning trying to pull up the build sheet then yes, that isnt populated until the vehicle has been built.

Ahh, yes, the tracker tends to be behind actual status changes. Some it is spot on, others seem to lag with no apparent reason why.

If you have a copy of your POC from your dealer, that is the most complete/accurate piece of information you can get. Unforunately, there is just no good way for users to get that outside of continually asking your dealer for an updated copy of it.

Alright, just ordered one. Time will tell how it all works out. Guess that with some luck I'll see it in July?

Good to see that triple_B doesn't waste all his time on the TRX forum, by the way.

Curious as to how you know the number of orders submitted. It was said to be around 362 previously. Has it gone up or have order banks been suspended temporarily.
back when I ordered my SRT 392 in 17/18 the tracking system was trash...I don't think it worked in 20/21 either. I relied on my dealer to update status..

It’s a nice idea but it practice it falls short especially when people wish to get information in real time. Everyone wants news as it happens.

I guess that is what you get now in customer service spending $100,000 + went to chain chicken place last night buffet style wanted me to leave tip before I ever sat down! what ever happened to earning customers and being rewarded for good service
Regardless of vehicle price, I have learned that an ordered vehicle shows up at the dealer when it shows up. Sometimes it's surprisingly quick, other times it take many months more than it should. Either way there's nothing much I can do about it.

While I do like getting a heads up when the vehicle makes it to the rail yard, to have time to get the tow vehicle and a trailer ready, not even that is essential.

Ya heads up would be great have Fantastic Truck to sell before hand so any info great
ok no help from here probably going to sell full blown Hellcat destroyer grey no stipes bids start now
Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. My main concern is making sure this dealership isn’t pulling my leg and they actually have an allocation. But if BG just means a pretty vague status, then ok, I will indeed just try to be in touch each friday. Thanks again.

My build is just premium + destroyer gray. Removed stripes and black package.
Update: I did just get a VIN. Looks like Stellantis is highly prioritizing allocating orders that have a buyer. This dealer had their own order in for the DDHC for about 2 weeks with no response, but got the allocation filled 2 days after I put a deposit down.
So being a 21 owner and looking at the rebirth of the 23 model and thinking about how the brand wants to make everyone happy....I believe the 10k bump in base msrp is to appease those who felt the new batch would degrade value. from early observations on the 23 ordering process Stelantis may also be concerned with oversupply..

Agreed. Makes me glad I got a 21. Back then I was hoping for a Power Dollars rebate that never came, but at least I don't have to deal with the current ordering/supply/demand/ADM issues. I'd most likely walk away if that were the case. And that's coming from a guy who loves his DHC.

I also have a 2021 Durango Hellcat, but I ordered a 2023 on the first day they became available because I believe that the 'final year' of the big Supercharged Hemi will be more desirable later down the line. I had absolutely no problems with ordering/supply/demand/ADM issues as you mentioned. I paid MSRP (107K), and I got my VIN. I will sell my 2021 when the new one arrives.

I’m with you. If this is in fact the end of the ICE on muscle cars you are buying something at the end of an era.
