2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat

I am happy to say that I placed my order for a new 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat on 'day one', and already have a VIN. According to my good friend @ the local dealership, he believes that my order was the first one on the books for 2023, with my VIN ending in 000. Either way, I am excited and can't wait to get my hands on it. She will be Destroyer Grey w/ Redline Red/Black stripes, and Demonic Red interior, w/ all available options. I found it interesting that even though I got my VIN, there is no breakdown for price on the POC. I am guessing that prices have gone way up for 2023.

Now that would be interesting as my dealership said expect mine in January, even though I’m expecting it much later.

@goodmanale Have you heard anything from your dealer? Someone on the Facebook groups that had placed a 2023 DDHC order was informed that it was cancelled (along with 1,400 others) and it was most likely due to that dealership (and others) placing orders without allocations. I also found someone posted this list, which I didn't know existed. Is your dealer on this list?

2023 Durango Hellcat Allocation List
[/QUOTE]

They are on the list, yes.
Does the list just mean they're getting allocation in general or just one singular allocation?

If it's just one I may be out of luck. Last I spoke with my dealer, my salesman found out the owner placed an order for one the second orders opened. They received only 1 allocation on day one, so I was a day or two late calling them. But the dealership owner is always going to have the most swing I would think anyway. So maybe either way I would have had to wait.

So we are currently waiting for them to receive another allocation. Fingers crossed.
As of last Tuesday they only received more allocations for DD392's, so I'll call again tomorrow.

Do you know if they are trickling allocations out for these like they did the jailbreaks last year?

That will be the mystery as we head into 2023. I can only assume there will be more allocations. Just don't know when and for how many and if they will go to the same dealers. I am really looking forward to seeing some Durango Hellcats in the new colors.

I'm really hoping they get another allocation when Dodge opens up the orders for the base model (and the new colors, for the folks out there that want them).
That way I can modify my pending order right before we submit it.

Would be a nice Christmas gift to get a VIN.

Interesting. I ordered on 11/14 from a dealership NOT on the list. I got a VON, POC and VIN within two days of ordering. Not sure what the dealership not being on the list means, but getting an assigned VIN seems like assurance enough that it will be built. Thoughts?
ITS STARTING! First 2023 Durangos came down the line. None of them are Hellcats, but they have at least started the Dodge orders now instead of just the Jeep. I found 153 Durangos this morning

I think it's funny that 2023 production started, and the Dodge website still only has build and price up for 2022's.

Is this common with dodge? Haven't seen the same with other manufacturers I've ordered from.

I don't know. It's the first time I've ordered a new vehicle. Everything else I've had was either on the lot or located from another dealer nearby...or used haha.

Yes, they do that every year. And Dodge will tell you the B&P is a comparison tool to compare the 2022 and 2023, not to get early ordering info on 2023. For that, head to your dealer.

I would be curious to know if any of the alleged 1400 canceled orders had a VIN. The dealership I ordered from is on the list, but I do not have a VIN yet or at least the dealership hasn’t informed me of having one yet. I don’t know how many “allocations“ the dealership has, how many were already ordered, etc. I am a little leery because they wanted ADM and then a week later was willing to do sticker. Meaning did they sell all allocations with an ADM and then take more orders at sticker thinking they would get more allocations? I do have a signed Vehicle Buyer’s Order so I know I am price protected. I guess I am going into this hoping for the best but wouldn’t be shocked if I didn’t get one and the order falls though.

Im in the same position and not sure whether I should start searching for another dealer with an allocation (if any remain). My dealer checked this morning and said my status changed from D to BG, but the order is not cancelled. Not sure what that means moving forward.

That is always the case. Typically a month or more behind production starting before any of the sites update

I know of at least one person from the Facebook side that ordered from a dealer not on the list and had a VIN and confirmed that his order was cancelled. It's worth a phone call or email to the dealer so you aren't surprised whenever they decide to call you to let you know.

Calling is on the list for today. Without a VIN (as far as I know), I'm not having overly high hopes.

But I'll still sell a couple of vehicles. If for no other reason to free up some space in the garage.

Add me to the list. I just found out that my order with a VIN from a dealer not on the list was cancelled by Dodge. There was no other explanation, and the dealer was shocked that an order with a VIN was actually cancelled. It's a tough time out there right now in the car business, and both dealers and consumers are feeling the impact. The dealership was so apologetic, so I guess there's that to fall back on. I have other feelers out there and hopefully will have a new order yet this week. Still, it's tough to swallow after having my order in and VIN assigned for nearly a month.

Well, that was good news, bad news.

Good in that it apparently got a VIN about a week ago, and went from C to D at some point.
Bad is that it then reverted back to BG. Oh well.
I have had a VIN for about 2 weeks and my dealer is on that list - I am anecdotally confirming that as of today, per my dealer, my order is still in D status. Will update with a comment on this thread if it gets cancelled with the reason my dealer gives me, if any.

I just checked. My order isn’t cancelled but I still don’t have a VIN yet. It was ordered on the 7th. They are on the list but they didn’t tell me how many they ordered or how many allocations they have.
What are the different order status letters? Does the dealer have to look them up? The website just shows me the VIN and VON and that my order is confirmed.
