2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat

I am happy to say that I placed my order for a new 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat on 'day one', and already have a VIN. According to my good friend @ the local dealership, he believes that my order was the first one on the books for 2023, with my VIN ending in 000. Either way, I am excited and can't wait to get my hands on it. She will be Destroyer Grey w/ Redline Red/Black stripes, and Demonic Red interior, w/ all available options. I found it interesting that even though I got my VIN, there is no breakdown for price on the POC. I am guessing that prices have gone way up for 2023.

You are saying it no longer shows on dodge’s tracking site at all, using your name and VON?
No, we still have a valid VON and Dodge confirmed a VIN but the tracker says TBD. No changes with any of that. I’d still like to have one but since I was recently diagnosed with cancer I’m rethinking the purchase. Might be the wrong thing to do. I don’t know.

Your life can change very dramatically in an instant. My wife says still to get it. I think she says that because she believes it would make me happy. I’d be happy spending more time with her and no material possessions.
Our lives are fleeting things, we are fragile, cancer blows, at some point you need to enjoy each day..

We don’t control a lot of things. Making the most of our time is up to us. Thanks.

I'm very sorry to hear, wives are such wonderful partners. Mine is also very supportive. But in the end think of if it will make you happy, and she will support you then do it. If you are of good health and you'd rather go traveling that is also a great way to spend the money on great memories. Either way best of luck to you, and I hope you kick cancers ass!

You know my thoughts as we have had conversations, something to look forward to especially if you can share time with others. Getting treatment again Friday gives me something to think about while doing so. Dodge don't make it easy sometimes!

Has anyone noticed that some dealers previously listed as having allocations have now disappeared? Ours showed at one point. Now it’s gone. As far as we know there were two orders. Ours and one prior but only by a few days. Still in D with a VIN. Nothing on Triple B’s tracker or the tracking site from Dodge. Mildly concerned. I understand the allocation list needs to be updated so it’s reasonable to expect your dealers name to drop off.
I would really hope they are adjusting that list (which I assume they are based upon the date at the top) to match current status. Saves folks from having to call a bunch of dealers that no longer have allocations. I wouldn't sweat it too much. D status is good. Things are moving, but moving slowly like they did in 2021.

Wife's 2021 totaled a few weeks ago (other diver's fault) with 18,000 miles on it - I called several dealers on the list (still listed as having allocations) and all were sold out except Koons who is asking 50,000 over sticker. I gave up and bought a used 2021.

Care to share what you paid?
Used 21 is a great fallback.
the now wrecked DHC was 90,800 (MSRP) when bought new - not fully optioned but to get the options I had would have required the premium at about 107,000 - would have paid that but not 157,000! Of course I didn't know in October (when I think order banks opened) I would need one. So the used 2021 is indeed a great fallback.

Looked on Cargurus and Autotrader for destroyer grey only (she wanted the same color as her totaled DHC which she really loved). Prices were mainly 89,000 to 97,000 with most listed for a few thousand over the original MSRP - mileage ranged from 4,000 to 20,000 for the ones on my list - the one we decided on was 89,000 (this one was 7,000 under the original MSRP - likely due to higher miles) and had 20,000 miles and was the closet match to the old one.

Did you attempt to negotiate?
Did you attempt to negotiate?
yes - to no avail (others had declined to negotiate as well) - my list was pretty short and i had misgivings about my other options - could have of course waited for others to pop up but the price will prob stay up for awhile -this one met my requirements and admittedly was the cheapest on my list.

Folks look at used with trepidation esp performance vehicles...but the flip side is If you can discern that the previous owner was an honest enthusiast then you are getting a proven example with any bugs/glitches addressed..

I orderd my Hellcat 12-22... Dealer told me they had allocation. I looked up allocation numbers a few weeks later and my dealership is not showing on the list. When I call the dealership they tell me my order is a good order. Any reasaon for me to worry?

Tell them you want an updated copy of your POC (Priced Order Confirmation). If you have a good order you should have a VIN assigned and hopefully be in "D" status. Dodge is updating the allocation list slowly so maybe your dealer fulfilled their allocation like they said and therefore are no longer on the published list as having an allocation available.
