I'm scheduled for the Direct Connection Stage 2 installation on May 2nd so I figured it would be cool to get actual before and after results of the outcome rather than take Dodge's word for it (Sorry Tim k 🤣) .

I talked with Josh at HHP last week and he was interested as well. I took it in today for the baseline pulls. My car is Stock as delivered from the factory. It's best 1/4 time to date, on just tires, is 10.16 at 134.26mph with 1.43 60ft.

The pulls were done on a Dyno-jet Dyno, temp was 58', was raining, and DA was about 390ft.

It had its best pull on the first try netting 707whp, with 665 ftlb of torque.

What was strange was that COT protection came on on every pull at about 6k, and when checking my 1/4 mile data logs it doesn't appear to come on at all except the one time I hit rev limiter.

Here is a video of the Pull.

Once the installation is complete next week it will go back on the same Dyno and we'll get both High Octane, and Race Gas tune pulls and I'll post the results here. I am also running it at Cecil County on the 5th so should have actual 1/4 mile times as well.
When completed you will be able to judge for yourself if the DC kits are worth the cost.

Results;
Ok everybody the results are in and I have to say am very impressed, Dodges numbers are very accurate.

Just so we're all on the same page I tried to make it as Apples to Apples before and after comparison as possible.

Josh from HHP did all the pulls on the same DynoJet Dyno using the same settings before and after install. The pulls were done in 6th gear (1to1 gear ratio) for the same length of time.

The weather on before install was 58' with a DA of +390ish vs today's after install of 72' with a DA of +1000ish on same Kestrel 5100 meter.

Fuel used was Sunoco 260 GT, 1/4 tank. COT protection kicked in at around 6000 rpm before install and about 5500 rpm after install (it was warmer today so that probably accounts for the difference)

Here are the results 👍

The Dyno sheet below shows best pre Stage 2 install pull of 707.3 rwhp with 665.1 ftlb of torque and best after Stage 2 install in High Octane mode of 790.69 rwhp with 749.57 ftlbs of torque.

The Stage 2 install netted me a Gain of approximately +83.39 rwhp and +84.47 ftlbs of torque and -3 tenths and + 3mph in the quarter mile so far, while still retaining the remaining 36 months and 56,000 miles of my power train warranty as well 12 months 32,000 miles of my btb warranty.

The other questions we answered, there was No P1400 code detected and the tune and PCM were Not accessible in anyway.

I will be going to a radial prep test session tomorrow and will be going for best ET this time vs a bracket time last outing and hopefully will be in the 9s 😁.

Once I finish the final track testing tomorrow I'll add my opinions on the Stage 2 install including a comparison vs HHPs Stage 1 tune with the same pulley setup with Josh providing actual Dyno pulls on same equipment as well as a price comparison.

Ron

And there it is First Pass today, Welcome to the 9 Second club 👍👍

You bring up an interesting point, stage kit vs COT. Wonder what people are going to see. Does the stage kit adjust COT I wonder?

interested as well

Some of us have the dreaded hiccup as well in the 1-2 or 2-3 shift. Curious to know if that gets adjusted for as more add the kits to their car.

I think this will be good empirical evidence. What I would like to know is what the calculated air mass changes to from stock to Stage 2 (pump vs. race fuel). This is going to show just how much heavier that thing is breathing. Timing changes would be another indicator of how much more is being leveraged for the returns. I suspect these will be very safe compared to most warranty-voiding options, even the conservative ones.

Will definitely see, everything will be exactly the same as today and all logs were saved.

I never had COT issue at the track, and the data logs I had of past runs seemed to indicate that as well, but it happened on every pull on the dyno, you could see the injectors just start dumping extra fuel in right around 6k and CAT temps drop.

I always use launch control and maybe they have some parameters that change when using it. Josh added some PIDS to track COT better so next time at track can try both with it on and off and see if anything changes.

Wait. What? Josh tuned your car and now your getting a DC tune?

Car has no tunes is completely stock.

Josh is doing the Dyno pulls so we can see exactly how the kits perform and exactly what the gains are before and after.

20.5 welds up front with 175/55/20 Briddgestones up front, and Weld S71 17x10 Beadlocks with MT 305/45/17 ETRs on rear.

Can see progress from day one to 4-8 when fastest time was set here

Thank you for the time and effort to provide all of us with a real life before and after. We are all super curious.

Much appreciated!

If I were you I’d reach out to a magazine or a tech article writer and see if they will publish this. The first DC Dyno before and after would be a cool article.

Thanks for doing this. All this data is amazing. Can’t wait to see the Stage 2 results.

What offset do you have for the rear setup? Looking to get something similar or if you can give a link to the exact ones you got that would be great!
TIA
On the link you posted I think you said you had some forgestars on the back then said here you have Weld S71 17x10. Did you upgrade and whats is the offset for the welds if you dont mind sharing….
