Well it looks like that oil cooler line leak from the 2017 HCs is back.

My car has been leaking oil from the oil cooler line crimp since I drove it home from the dealer. Got an appointment tomorrow to get it looked at so hopefully they can fix it/replace it without messing up anything.

Pretty good oil leak. Covered the engine, power steering, starter, my fender and wheel, even the transmission.

My 2020 RE had a trans line actually come off while driving. Luckily i saw smoke in my rear view and pulled right over before it completely dumped. Made a huge mess, had to be towed, reinstalled by dealer, and undercarriage cleaned out of pocket because dealer would not do it.
Have the dealer check all of your cooler lines before taking your new car home. Oil AND trans. This is a known QC issue at the factory and it pisses me off.

Well dropped it off this morning.

We'll see what happens considering the service advisor asked me where the oil cooler is located on the car lol.

It sucks these things are built next to the regular run of the mil cars. The people building them don’t take pride in building them, they are just trying to get done with the allotted takt time. This is the result.
Eh. One bad crimp/connection on the whole car is fine. It happens. Hopefully I'm a one-off and it doesn't become a thing again.

While I agree, you'd prob be a lot more annoyed if you were driving and smoke was everywhere from trans fluid dumping all over your undercarriage and leaving a trail down the road, and then towing lol. And then a $200 bill to clean it. Overall I agree it's not the end of the world but something as simple as that and not an actual mechanical failure could be avoided so it's frustrating, at least to me. And to know it's not a one off, other people are dealing with it too. A drip of oil is much less annoying than a complete blowout lol.

Eh. My passenger side wheel was covered in oil so it was far more than a drip.

I just see it as something that doesn't really warrant me to get into a bad mood over. Shit like this happens and I get it. Hopefully they'll fix it and I'm a happy camper.

As far as an update, they said they'll be replacing the whole oil cooler module and lines (and my airbag since the srt logo doesn't light up lol). Car is sitting at the dealership waiting on parts to arrive and get installed.

Service advisor doesn't work on the car. He doesn't need to know an oil cooler from a TV set. All he has to do is note on the invoice there's an oil leak and where you stated you observed the leak sign. The tech will determine what exactly is leaking and where and what to do about it.

Make them clean it after they fix it.
when they're done, make them put it on the lift so you can visually inspect to make sure they cleaned ALL of the oil off EVERYTHING. Dodge/Jeep service centers typically suck ass and will only do the bare minimum to make sure your work order is complete.

hopefully they have it stored indoors and not just out in the weather until parts arrive....

Also, reset top speed counter to ZERO after you park it and record the odometer, AND only give them the black key.
Eh. I have a dashcam with LTE and a separate tracker. They can have the red key but they know not to hoon it.

An update, I ended up taking the car home as the parts were two weeks out and I didn't want it parked outside there. They replaced my airbag but damaged the steering wheel shroud in the process :(

Oil cooler parts should be in around the end of the month
