This is my forever car. If all goes well, I'll have this in 30 years.Congrats again! I hope that you hold on to it for a while. It seems that the universe aligned for you to ultimately have it. Enjoy!
Dude congratulations!!Hi all, as I've documented in this thread, it took 15 months to get this car from its original order date of 3 Dec, 2021. After I discovered that the dealer had lied about having an allocation, I canceled this order and bought a C8 on the same day as a rage purchase. This is where the crazy part of the story begins.
Apparently, I canceled it on the very same day that the Dodge dealer sold to new owners. When they performed their data transfer from their old servers to the new auto group's, an error was made by their DBA and it truncated all the customer demographics from their stored orders. They had to manually reach out and update their current orders with the proper owners' info. As such, my car was never communicated to Dodge as having been canceled. My name was removed from the order by that DBA error, so when I checked a couple months later, I got no info because my last name was not a valid name for the tracker. So, I thought it was dead and I moved on.
8 months later, I got a random cold call from the Dodge dealership. They called to let me know that, somehow, my original build was selected for D status and was about to go into production. I lucked out because I personally know the salesman and he remembered whose car it was (that, and they don't do much SRT car volume at all, so the list of potential people who ordered was short). They asked if I still wanted it, and I told them if it is actually going to get built, then yes.
The car went D1 the day before the '22 MY cutoff. Dodge ended up suspending the D1 status and pushed it to a '23 model. It was later picked for production on or around January 9th. Per every car I've ordered from Dodge, it was built and then sat in the upfitter for 3 weeks. It was build complete in the middle of February and shipped in the 3rd week of February.
In the interim, I talked with the dealer about the pricing. They agreed to honor the original POC price ($97k) from 2021 on the 2022 model. If it were left as a 2023, its MSRP would have been $103,000. So, I saved a little there. Further, they tossed in quite a few perks (10 year extended warranty, paint protection, 10 year free oil changes, 10 year wheel+tire plan all for $1,500) as the current management knew of the shitshow that the previous ownership put me through with all the lies and doctored/fake POCs they fed me to keep me on the hook.
This unallocated car had somehow made it into production 13 months after it was ordered and it was delivered 15 months after the initial order, ON MY BIRTHDAY.
Thus, this car should not exist, as it was never given an allocation, was formally canceled and deposit refunded, but due to a database error, the cancellation was never communicated to the factory and was allowed to sit in the system until it won the non-allocation lottery. My name is still on the "built for" on the window sticker.

I never said I'd never... I said, "The car is a bad value at the price point and I don't feel good paying 100k for one." That's still true. When you cross shop like a logical person, the REWB is still lacking in a lot of areas. Like the interior. It's got a power tilt steering column, but a manual passenger seat and a manual recline on the driver's side. Most any other car at this price point is going to have full power seats. Manual tilt steering wheels are still the norm. So, the whole arrangement makes no sense to me. Further, I said any other Redeye, I'd not even give a second thought for. I wanted one in this exact spec or nothing at all. I wouldn't buy a PCP, Sublime, Black, Torred, or anything other than this exact car. I have a Ramchargers fetish and wanted the modern version of this, as close as it could be had:Xylander: "You're all crazy, and I'd never pay over $100k for a Dodge!"
Also Xylander: "I just bought a $100k Dodge."
It's really not all that bright. That shot was taken with a flash to try and pull the copper color out. Normally when photographed, it shows as plain carbon fiber. For whatever reason, digital cameras filter out the copper coloring. That image is not only done with a flash, but I had to adjust the coloring with a filter to get it in the state you see it in. So, it is artificially brightened so you can sort of see what I see if the sun hits it. In real life, it's a subtle thing, but easily noticeable. It just doesn't photograph well at all.Great looking combo there! - And I'm normally not big on white cars.
That Copper Weave on the interior looks like it could get pretty bright in the sun from that pic. - Congrats and HB
That would mean he didn't go over $100k. lolXylander: "You're all crazy, and I'd never pay over $100k for a Dodge!"
Also Xylander: "I just bought a $100k Dodge."
I financed around $135k. It's basically a GTR thanks to sales tax and the C8. 🤮 I wasn't kidding when I signed the dumbest car deal this side of Uranus. I can't imagine someone keeping a deal like this longer than a few months. When I refi, I'll end up paying off all but about $60k of it. We've got a good financial planner (who's shitting himself right now), and we've got enough equity in our primary house to cash out part of it and literally go debt free -mortgage with the amount of equity we have in it. So, we're probably going to do that and then sell the house in a couple years and move to Tennessee. That would mean he didn't go over $100k. lol

Congrats! I just traded my WRX (daily) for a 23’ WB Scat Pak Charger, and love it! Was looking since November and snagged it the day it was delivered. Dealership gave me $2500 off msrp as they are a new dealership stating they get two allocations for every one they sell.CONGRATULATIONS !! LOOKS SWEET !!! Makes me miss this one..............
