Car is 2019 HC Challenger, all stock with the 2.62. I want to do the 3.09 swap, dealer mentioned that I may need the DS and half-shafts installed during 3.09 gear change.

From what I'm reading, you do NOT need the DS or half-shafts and the rear gear swap will be fine. Would like to confirm this and also if someone has the Mopar part number for the 3.09 LSD would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

@ MAW: No, you don’t need all of that crap. Offhand don’t have the part #. I, personally, would go a little higher with the gears since the rear will be disassembled. B.T.W: Welcome to the forum!

@SickToo: You know what I meant. I always screw that up. I just based it on the fact that the rear will already be disassembled and that’s what I would do. Don’t think there’s much difference between 2.62s and 3.09s (I.M.O.)

The rear will not be disassembled. It is swapped out as a whole unit. Unfortunately there are no aftermarket gear sets for our diff. So gear choice is limited .

The driveshaft or axles do not need to be changed for the 3.09 swap. With either diff, the one from the Scat Pack or the
Demon/Red-eye diff.

@moparjim: Didn’t mean to spread misinformation. I guess I’m too old to comment. Had an ‘09 G.T. 500, changed out the gears (3.31s to 3.73s) shop just did the gears. I guess it’s just an expensive plug and play nowadays. Thanks for taking me to school!

No biggie. If someone doesn't tell you different, how would you know.😉
The old solid diff had gear choices that we no longer have with this set up unfortunately.
Arguably we don't really need it with the 4.71 1st gear ratio and the amount of low end torque we have.

The great white north is green and hot and humid. Temps in the high 80 to low 90f range and humid, and just a couple of weeks ago or so it snowed😂
