lol.....no I'm sensible to know it dont have to be new to perform...3.70 is 3.70 I dont care about looking just working correctly. So you have 3.70 you had them in your m6? heck I'll do it old school and throw some cork's down in there

Yes, had 3.70 behind my M6, went to a 3.90. Have these 3.70’s around that I bought as spares. I’ll be staying with the 3.90 so no use for the 3.70’s now. My suggestion, buy the cheap 15k one if you just want to try one and hammer on it, cheap play/experiment, it’ll take all you can give it.

3.90 or 3.09?

Do ALL these thing whine? In theory, a properly lashed hypoid gearset should not whine. What is with these rear ends? What is the deal with these things?

I had never heard of a whining rear end until I got in the Hellcat asylum.

Use a 30" tall tire if you do go to a 3.70 or 3.90 to reduce the effective ratio a touch.

I'd be curious to know what gear/rpm a stock A8 2.62 and 3.09 HC and RE or S/S trap at. Actual, not theoretical. And then compare it to a set of 3.70s.
