Hey all. I'm stumped. Been looming in the shadows (yes I know creepy) for a few years. Had a 16 Challenger Hell Cat and moved on to a 2021 Super Stock.

Question is I have the stock wheels and tires but like everyone says they kick up so much junk and I have 3 little ones one love to cruise in the "race car" up to camp and to get ice cream etc.

So I scored a set of demon wheels and I'm looking for tires.

Originally I planed on doing 315/40/18 - 2 nitto 555g2 and 2 nitto 555Rii

But I can't find those anywhere. So a shop recommend doing 305/40r18 Nitto 555Rii on rear and 295/40r18 Nitto 555g2 on front.

Is that a good setup for cruising around town? I don't know anything about tire sizes and I've.looked at charts but it's so hard to tell size by those charts. I love the way the demons and super stocks look stock stance. If I go with the 305/295 setup am I going to be disappointed in the look? I don't want it to look for lack of a better word "wimpy".


I tried to look through old threads for pictures but it most of the pictures are unavailable from older threads.

I appreciate any help I can get and if anyone has comparison pics that would be phenomenal!

I can't seem to find 305/45 anywhere. That's why I was thinking of settling for the 305/40 and 295/40?

It really sucks that Nitto isn't bothering to make the 315 40 18s in either the G2 or RII right now.

I have 315 40 18 on order right now. Summit took my order. 2- G2 and 2 RII. They said they will have them agust 19 and ship to me right after.

However I'm not holding my breath, I have a fleet account with discount tire and they told me that those tires are not being manufacturered right now because of the low demand. They are focusing on in demand orders now.

So I don't know who to believe.

But I did order the previous mention 305 40 and 295 40 G2 and RII configuration in the meantime as a backup. Should be here tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I will be happy. So I left the others on order with summit. If they dont ship by the end of the month I'll mount the 305 / 295

Ill keep you updated. My discount tire rep told me no way no how. Said they havent seen any since last january and they have no current ETA for orders now.

The summit rep told me they are very limited but he said if they give a date then its usually pretty accurate. He said if they do not have an ETA or a rough estimate then they will pull the listings completely and offer no timeline or even a guestimate. They only offer ETA if they are absolutely sure they can honor that date within a few days.

So like I said, i left them on order with summit. They dont charge you until they come in.As a backup I ordered the 305/295 just in case, bc even those sizes were incredibly hard to find anywhere.

Yes if you go on discount tire.com which is the site if you have a local store it says delivery is 1-5 days.

If you go to discount tire direct.com which is the online sales website it says special order normally ships is 7 days.

But like I said, my inside salesman for our fleet at discount tire said never gonna happen. He says they aren't even making the tire.

I do hope you get yours, if I get them form summit I'll be sure to let you know so you can jump in line.

Or if you order from summit, you can order them and tell them to ship to summit first then ship from summit to you. If you do that, they won't charge you until they ship to you. So you aren't out any money, basically just holding a spot in line.

Otherwise they will have them drop shipped directly from Nitto to you when available but you have to pay up front.

So the extra few days of shipping is worth not having to cough up close to 2k with no idea when they will ship.

Just received this. Looks like they weren't lying? On their site now though, they moved the date you.until 8/30.

That would be awesome if they come through. I have a pair of RIIs that Discount Tire was able to get. Looks like I'll order the G2s from Summit and see what happens.

So I put my order in a couple days ago and it was also showing expected arrival of 8/19, today that jumped to 9/23

They were supposed to ship to me today or yesterday. I haven't heard anything. I called Wednesday and the gal told me they were still on track to ship to me around the 19th.

I'm gonna call, I saw on the website it was moved to 8/30

Actually just signed into my order and now its showing 9/1/2021 RII and 9/23/2021 for the G2

Yes except you have the interior I wanted! I had it in my Cat before. But I found this super stock, I was going to order one but I found a dealer in PA who had someone cancel their order and I pounced on it and drove the 5 hrs to go get it.

It's got the black Laguna. I like it but I love your interior!

I ordered mine...kinda glad you didn't order. Hoping mine is one of one...not that it really matters. By the time that means anything I'll be too old to care.

I wanted this interior when I bought my 2015, but I just couldn't see it going with sublime so I ordered black. Really liking the change.

Haha all good. I sacrificed the interior so I didn't have to wait! So win win for us both!

So bad news from Summit. RII are in but G2 pushed back until end of September. So idk what I'm going to do.

I'm in upstate NY so I'm going to be putting car up for winter in another month or so.

Same boat here. Getting the RIIs installed in the wheels today and will probably just wait it out for the G2s. Thought about running RIIs on all corners but that’s not much better for rocks than the 05s already on it
