50k Above MSRP?

4046 Views 42 Replies 22 Participants Last post by  NDanecker
Inquired to order a Durango Hellcat from Koons. Purchased my 2018 Trackhawk and a Ram from them. Just received a reply stating they have allocation but since this is the last run (heard that before LOL) they are asking 50k above MSRP. Um......I can buy an SRT and build a better Hellcat with that kind of cash. I got a killer deal on the 2018 Trackhawk from them. At the time they had 26 Trackhawks and wanted to move them as the 19's were coming out. Different market. Different scenario. Not paying above MSRP for this vehicle or any vehicle for that matter.

Would you pay 50k over sticker?
Not unless I won the lottery.
I think Koons is a bunch of ripoff artists. I was dealing with Koons Ford to buy a new GT500. After 4 months of emails back and forth, they finally agreed to msrp. So I went down to the dealer to close the deal and they offered me 10K under KBB for my mint trade in. I then went down to Richmond and got an msrp deal and KBB for my trade.
They are. Lied right to my face in regards of my 22 WBHC Charger order (placed in August 2022)when it got canceled. They claimed they resubmitted it for a 23 (almost 2 months ago) yet just 3 days ago I get a email from Dodge showing a new order submitted in my name from them which I never submitted. It is clear they added it for their inventory and are trying to claim that I am ordering it.
Had a dealer ask for $50k ADM for a DDHC when I tried to order.. It was a good laugh for sure!

Freehold Dodge in NJ has 3 allocations with 1 sold. They are offering the 2 at 10k above MSRP. Sorry...still no sale. Prices will come down eventually and I believe Dodge will bump production numbers to follow demand. Or I can be completely off base and I will never own a DDHC. Not paying above MSRP!!! :(
Found another dealer that wanted 20k, then 10k, and finally 5k. I still walked away. Not paying ADM!!! More allocation will be released similar to how the Trackhawks rolled out. Just because you have the means to pay ADM doesn't justify paying above MSRP. I can wait. {tick tock, tick tock} LOL
agreed.. then next year they release the DDHCRW at 807hp.. ;)

If only that were true, or confirmed.
I LOVE seeing this. Soon, the "Y-er" that bought it will post pictures!

oh.. im dreaming.. or speculating.. i think they did run one in the one lap of america a few years back.
As a 21 owner I was hoping that the 23 would have a redeye option...of course we have the powerbroker wet dream fantasy to cling to.. 🥴
Think they'll ever release a kit for the Durangos? I looked over the direct connection catalog and it didnt look like there was anything for the Durango.. Hell the SRT4 Neon seems to have more stuff...
I am not going to defend Koon's but we just picked up our 2022 Durango SRT last Saturday. It took 10 months for the SRT to be built and three weeks for shipment. The selling price was exactly what they said it would be. Yes, their interest rate was above my credit union but I do not care. I just made sure it was a simple interest loan and my Credit Union is going to buy out the loan right after the first payment so I am out less than $200.00. The Koon's group buy for 2022 was much better than it is now. We also bought our 2019 Charger Hellcat from Koon's. When we were there last Saturday they just found out they were the number one dealer in the country, I don't think you get to that point by trying to rip everyone off. All that being said we as buyers have the primary responsibility to look after our own best interests. I guess some of this just comes with age.

who knows....factory warranty compatible is what we are all excited about....To my simple brain a 6.2 is a 6.2 with only differences be configuration of intake /exhaust/and ECM settings..

yea.. thats the exciting part.. the warranty stays intact. Id be all about a Stage II kit if it'd be possible with the DDHC

I am able to order one DHC at MSRP from a dealership with allocation.

I tried to use this as leverage to negotiate with several other dealerships. I was asking them to do $1,000 - $3,000 off MSRP, none of them are willing to do so.

So looks like MSRP is the best offer I can get at this moment. BTW I am in southern California, the dealerships I have contacted (~30) are in local, bay area, OR, WA and AZ.
