Hello! I have a 2018 charger HC with 52k miles, apart from a LM intake the vehicle is fully stock. My car started developing a strange noise on cold starts that sounds like a hum or a rotational creaking sound that goes away when the car warms up. I can cause the sound upon coming down with the rpms after accelerating. Sound occurs at 1-2k rpms or when decelerating. I’m out of warranty and can’t have it to the dealer until a couple of weeks from now.
Any ideas?
SC bearings ?

Supercharger bearings maybe. But IIRC SC bearing issues were much more common with the earlier models. By 2018 the bearings were not a common issue.

More common and the miles is about "right" is the water pump fails. One sign can be a noise.

With another car I also had -- 2 different times -- and accessory drive system idler roller bearing make noise.

If you want to investigate further a mechanic's stethoscope can let you probe various areas like the supercharger snout or the water pump housing (and another accessories) to try to pinpoint the source of the noise.

Also, with the engine off check the accessory drive and supercharger belts. If there is a sharp edge this can because the belt is rubbing a pulley and this should not occur. It does because (my experience with a bad (and noisy) water pump) the excess bearing play causes the belt to contact a pulley.

I just bought a used HC charger 3 weeks ago, 28k miles on it,the carfax stated the water pump was replaced, everything is super quiet, so maybe it was the same issue with mine and it was changed. I wonder if the 2nd pump will last longer I hope. So look into your water pump.
