Can you tune a 707 horsepower 2016 Challenger Hellcat to reach 797 horsepower? If not, what did Dodge do to get 90 more horsepower on the red eye? Thanks in advance.
So for reality, I had my 717 21 Charger HC tuned by Satera. It made 655hp stock and 734hp to the tire tuned. I'd say thats a bit more than 797 at the crank, with just a tune for 93. So moral of the story, just get a tune.Well they upgraded all the internals. I don’t recall injector sizes, but the big difference is you’ve got a 2.4L blower, Redeye has a 2.7L
You can tune to be more than 797, but it’s not just loading a Redeye factory tune and bam there you go.
They changed the engine, added the bigger blower, and changed the tune. Almost everything internally is different. Can you tune a 707 horsepower 2016 Challenger Hellcat to reach 797 horsepower? If not, what did Dodge do to get 90 more horsepower on the red eye? Thanks in advance.
Huh? Hellcat shortblocks will do 1k HP easy. It’s the fuel system that needs to upgrade. But yeah 80 more HP is nothing to a 707 HC.Can you tune to 717 to 797? Apparently so. Will it stay together? Therein lies the rub. The Hellcat to Redeye improvements are more than just the number 80.
I stand corrected. ...........I wonder why the engineers made all of those engine/supercharger improvements for the Demon/RE/SS if it was just fuel. They didn't know?Huh? Hellcat shortblocks will do 1k HP easy. It’s the fuel system that needs to upgrade. But yeah 80 more HP is nothing to a 707 HC.
Are you asking if the engineers didn’t know by making the hellcat shortblock forged, they didn’t know it would handle far more HP than that intended? I would say yes. They used parts that would far exceed their goals in the name of durability and longevity. They then did the same for subsequent models. Case in point the redeye doesn’t need dual fuel pumps to make 80 more crank HP over the hellcat. This has been proven by every tuner that’s ever tuned a stock 707 HC. They did this for durability and longevity.I stand corrected. ...........I wonder why the engineers made all of those engine/supercharger improvements for the Demon/RE/SS if it was just fuel. 700cc injectors, bigger SC, more air, and a different alloy rotating assembly. Thats the only differences. Can you tune a 707 horsepower 2016 Challenger Hellcat to reach 797 horsepower? If not, what did Dodge do to get 90 more horsepower on the red eye? Thanks in advance.
The stock fuel maps are atrocious on these cars. Look at your AFR now and then and youll notice more often than not 9ish afr is pretty common. They run pig rich from factory. If you leave everything bone stock and don't change any parts, is a "tune" worth it? And what exactly do they do to "tune" a '16 Challenger Hellcat with an M6? Thanks.
No thats the cat over temp kicking in destroying your AFR and power. The stock fuel maps are atrocious on these cars. Look at your AFR now and then and youll notice more often than not 9ish afr is pretty common. They run pig rich from factory.
Whatever it is, they still run pig rich. A tune is worth cutting that out alone. No thats the cat over temp kicking in destroying your AFR and power.
Absolutely. Thats the only way to get rid of COT and lean it out to what you should be running.Whatever it is, they still run pig rich. A tune is worth cutting that out alone.
In short, yesIf you leave everything bone stock and don't change any parts, is a "tune" worth it? And what exactly do they do to "tune" a '16 Challenger Hellcat with an M6? Thanks.
