Looking at the HHP Website it shows
MOPAR 8HP90 Automatic Transmission & Torque Converter for 15-Current Challenger & Charger SRT Hellcat 6.2L

What happened that you nuked your Trans?
they are built really well.

Linda :)
2020 Challenger HC. Changed Blower pully, had it tuned. Made 742 hp to the rear wheels. Sticky Mickey Thompsons. Well prepped extra sticky track. Wheel Hop - Bye Bye Drive Shaft, which took out the tranny and the diff. Best run was 10.54 @ 136. So I'm buying a used one to send it off to HHP to have them do their magic. Not paying 11K from Dodge for an OEM new one.

You should give HHP sales a call if you are going to continue racing because you may want to upgrade your Trans.

I upgraded my Trans from a similar type problem.

I like to Race and Daily Drive. The upgraded Trans does well for both!

When you start modding the engine in these cars, you have to simultaneously upgrade the running gear. I'm sure you're figuring this out now :) This is part of why the going rate for 900whp on these cars tips a bit over $20,000. Getting the power is easy. Keeping the car from blowing up, = $$$.

My guy called them earlier today, they don't have any cores available , and probably for weeks if not months. I found one locally, so I'll pick it up, ship it on up to them, let them do their magic...we will also bulk up the drive shaft , and install hardware to prevent wheel hop, along with a diff brace. And then, no more mods. Thank you for confirming what I was hoping to be true...

Yup, if I had just upgraded the driveshaft, I wouldnt be in this mess. Even 56 year olds do stupid things.

In my case, you only forget to put anti-seize on the spark plugs once after you spend 4 days digging 8 plugs out of an aluminum race head that cost about $4,000.

Oh man? That sounds no good. I thought on these heads you were supposed to install the spark plugs dry because anti seize screws with the torque reading when tightening?

I don't know for sure on Mopar heads. I've never done a plug job on a Gen 3 Hemi. The above example was a 2015 Mustang. I tried torching it to heat it up, but even then I'd only get like 1/16th of a turn per heat treatment. I soaked them in penetrating fluid for 2 days and had to gradually heat and repeat each plug to get them to free up.

It all depends on the spark plug, really. If it's a common steel threaded plug mated to an aluminum head, they can get stuck like mine did. However, NGK plugs don't require anti-seize as they have some form of coating or composite construction that prevents them from getting stuck. FWIW, the ones that got stuck on me were Bosch Platinums.

Yeah, I always use NGK 1 step colder in my hellcat. I’ve done the plugs twice now, no anti seize

The was a Paramount one for sale on here the other day. Looked like a good deal.

Are the Paramount ones built stronger?
Catestrophic failure of hard parts is rare. They rebuild them with new steels and clutches, sometimes pistons (just factory ones). Valve body is usually left untouched, just checked. Clutches and steels are replaced to increase torque capacity/rating. If you’re not making over 900whp your stock trans will be fine with a good tune. A bad TCM tune will burn up a transmission fast. So will leaving your transmission in gear on the turn down; throw it in neutral when coming to a stop on the track

Yep sometimes we forget about the 5 red headed step children after the flywheel…the driveshaft is designed to be the weakest link but it doesn’t always go that way
