So a few weeks ago I had a torn axle boot and got grease all over the actuator. Cleaned it thoroughly put everything back on. After that I noticed the valve making an opening and closing noise about every 30 seconds to 2 minutes even when the car is locked and keys not in range. After a day or 2 this stopped and noticed I have a code for both valves. Is it possible that the one actuator I cleaned got water or break clean in and fried it? Then this caused the ecm to shut the whole system down? Should I replace the valve that got grease on? How do I reset the ecm to make it read them again? Both codes are permanent and pending

Go to this site and scroll down to the pdf’s the info is there to reinstall them correctly just in case the motors turned out of home position causing a misalignment via spring and valve hub slots

I know it’s about the MFER1 but the info will help, read the last one that’ll get you in the right direction
Ok sounds good. Thanks for that. What about resetting the system cuz now neither of my valves are doing anything. I only took the one valve off. I think it tripped the system out and shut both valves down. Now both codes are permanent.

Pull fuse 31 for 20 seconds to reset the system and clear the light.. take it back apart to make sure the assembly is correct, follow the guidelines for getting that motors slots to home position once they have power back, once it sees everything is correct it won’t throw a code again
