Hey there. I have a 2020 Trackhawk that did not come with the towing package. I would like to add one and I am getting all kinds of different information from Mopar and the dealers.

I have one dealer that says you cannot tow with a Trackhawk. I have another dealer telling me that they have to cut away part of the rear bumper to add the tow hitch receiver.

I am also being told that there is NOT a wiring harness made for the Trackhawk to enable towing.

Finally, I am being told two different things when it comes to the Bezel to cover the hitch when not in use.

Has anyone added a net new hitch to their 2020 or newer Trackhawk? What parts did you use? How was the installation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked Curt or E-Trailer yet? They will know!
baabootoo, I have been on their websites and they have a hitch that rides below the bumper. I would really like the hitch that can be hidden when not in use. I am going to stop by a private shop that only works on Jeeps today to see what they have to say. Thank you for the response.

Ahhhhhhhh, I see. Mine says, "Not for towing also", BUT I don't plan on towing a 6500# trailer either, I just use my cargo carrier a lot. I'm sure they didn't want someone towing a boat, going 150, then wondering why it didn't work and sue them!

Here is what is pissing me off, they sell TH with towing hitches already installed. The manual states it can tow 7200lbs. Yet, two dealers tell me it cannot be done. When I asked one of them why they sell the TH with a hitch already installed, the back-peddling begins. If I could find the correct parts (for sure) I would just do it myself. But, I cannot get anyone to agree on the parts either. Not rocket science.....

Most of these companies demand for warranty that you have the appropriate factory package. So I'd be very careful adding one, it's definitely possible that if you have a powertrain claim they are going to blame your added on hitch.

What's all needed to install the tow hitch myself? I got banned from the JeepTrackhawk. org because one of the moderators is a little girl and can't handle the truth.

Obviously the hitch itself, and wire harness, but anything else? Can I install the wire harness myself or do I need to have it flashed by a dealer? I was quoted $1500 for a dealer install, 2 years ago I paid $500 for my SRT. I'm an idiot, but if I can save $1000 I'd like to!

You need the hitch bar, the bolts to hold it on, the 7 way/4 way connector and the wire harness for the post '18 vehicles. It can all be installed by you if you are handy enough. Once installed though, you still need a dealer to activate the functionality of the wire harness. Without that, there will be no lights on the trailer. I only use mine for a hitch mounted bike carrier, if my '18 didn't already have the wire harness, I probably would have just installed the Hitch bar and left it at that. There are Mopar kits that have all the parts needed. Last time I saw the dealer price was actually pretty good. i think the wire harness is separate from the kit though.

Awesome thanks! Yeah the parts from the dealer aren't bad! But they quoted 7 hours of labor at $125. However, if it's one of those deals where I bust all my knuckles, say terrible things to my wife, and throw a hammer through the garage wall, then maybe I should just pay the install fee. Just wasn't sure if I can save myself some money here

Maybe your cheerful personality is what got you banned?

Not sure what you're talking about sir. I'm just trying to get information about a tow hitch. Please don't derail the thread.
The truth is you were ranting about defunding the police on a forum for Jeeps. You were asked to keep your posts to Jeeps and you went on another rant and that’s why you were banned. You can call me names if it makes you feel tough but it’s that kind of behavior that got you banned.

LOL, yes in a thread ABOUT CAR JACKINGS I said in my city people wanted the police defunded and crime went up. I mean is that not to be expected? I support the police and knew what would happen, and it did. Again, this was in a thread about vehicle theft!

You're straight up a liar, but hey, way to derail a thread. At least you're not a moderator here so you can't just delete a post and act like you can't handle the truth. Your license plate should say "LIL GIRL" BTW

Anyways, to keep on topic. I appreciate everyone who gave a response to original thread before "LIL GIRL" derailed it. Looks like total parts is around $600 from the dealer, or on my own. I may call another dealer to see about their labor rate before I attempt this on my own.
