I've been searching this for a bit and I haven't really found anything solid, or current... on the Charger, how much support do the 2 factory cross tunnel braces provide, and how detrimental is it to have them installed?

I installed a Carven catback exhaust and neither brace will fit after install. I can get a bit of clearance between the Xpipe and the front brace, but it still hits when driving. Simple solution will be to add some spacers and call it a day; that said, the rear brace is an entirely different story. The xpipe to mid pipe connection/clamps are in the exact same place as the cross brace, and there is no way to install the brace.

I watched the Carven install video and it appears that they leave the braces off after install. I know that there are after-market braces available.

So the question remains; will I see tangible negative effects from the braces not being installed?

I wouldn’t worry about it. 4 door car. Has extra door jams to support unibody construction ha

How much tire ya got under that beast?

What’s it 60 foot?

For now it's on stock size Conti's. I've got a set of 17" Forgestar's for it, but unfortunately MT's in 315/50 are backordered for eternity...

I put these under my 300.

I was looking at those last night; they're priced pretty well and I may pick up a rear one.

can you space the factory brace down with some washers/longer bolts?
They are attached to the car with 13mm threaded studs and nuts. There appears to be enough thread on the front ones to install spacers, which I plan on trying. There is no way in hell the rear one will fit though.. I don't have any pics at the moment, but between the bigger piping and the fact that the joint for the Xpipe to Mid pipes is in the exact same spot; the stock attachment hardware isn't long enough..

The car is a weekend cruiser and will probably only see the track a handful of times, so it's not a huge deal, but I figure Dodge braced that area for a reason; I might as well try and keep it braced..

You will not notice a difference and it will not hurt anything. Those braces underneath are not in any way structural.
That said.
What a crappy exhaust design. How lazy do they have to be not to incorporate those into the layout like EVERY other exhaust company.
I would have boxed them and shipped them back on general principal.
F**k that.
