AlfaOBD help

I am asking for anyone with a hellcat and who uses AlfaOBD to please either post a BCM read (preferably) or screenshot from your BCM read of the chassis type of your vehicle. Please include the model year, model type (Challenger/Charger), and transmission (manual/automatic). If you post the BCM read make sure to block out your VIN#.

I'm trying to test a theory and find a solution on a couple things. Particularly, I have a 2016 A8 Challenger Hellcat and I upgraded to a 2019 Uconnect radio so I could get Android Auto / Carplay plus the newer performance pages and faster processor of the newer radios. I'm very happy about the upgrade and everything works options wise except launch control is defaulted to 1,000rpm and the rpm cannot be adjusted. This is pretty much the case with everyone I know that have a 2015-2016 vehicle and upgraded to the newer Uconnect 4c radios. I have done a fair amount of research and suspect this can be fixed via a command using AlfaOBD. I appreciate anyone that can help.

I thought someone posted the fix for launch control on another forum?
Also, I’m curious here. Did you try driving 500 miles yet? You replaced the bcm, programmed as new, and the radio. I’m wondering if the 500 mile lockout for launch control was somehow reactivated/reset? Maybe not, just throwing ideas out there

I have a 2016 so I did not have to replace my BCM. I also know several others who have 2016's and did the upgrade and are experiencing the same thing with their launch control so I don't think that is the case. That is why I am hoping some of the other members can help out and post a copy of their BCM read or at minimum the screenshot of their chassis type. I'm particularly interested in 2017 and up but I would like to compare 2015-16 also as long as the reads are from an automatic transmission vehicle. I could be wrong but I strongly feel the launch control issue can be resolved through a BCM command via AlfaOBD.
Activate/actuate the ABS and let me know.
Alfa enables or disabled the functionality, has nothing to do with rpm limit
Go through and reset the abs, radio, bcm, and radio frequency control hub module. Look for any codes in those modules and clear them. Process of elimination.
After looking at the log file there is a bunch of stuff in it. It didnt want to attach, Ill see what I can do. It has HOM and Chiller in there. I wounder if I could turn on the chiller function and get rid of the toggle switches Im running and let the bcm do its thing. I had to change the .log to .txt to load the file.
You absolutely can if you have the wiring, I can help you out. Can do a factory install. Also need ac lines

Need the high octane center stack as well
I bet the high octane mode tables are also in your pcm calibration
I may keep it the way I have it. Finally have the ac and chiller working good together. If you scroll down to miscel. params there is aftermarket ecm detected. Is this where it stores the p1400 code?
Yes, and in other modules

Did you do the radio upgrade?
I’ve done way more than anyone has done with Alfa for these cars, and that’s a fact. That being said, no - no need to. And my launch control works great
1. Bud, not sure if you meant it but you are coming across a little arrogant in my opinion. You say you have done a lot with Alfa, good for you. 2. I did ask the same question in another forum because maybe a member over there also has a good idea either from experience or otherwise and wanted to contribute something useful to the discussion. 3. I am very pleased with the radio upgrade and would do it again in a heartbeat. The Pros far outweigh any Cons in my opinion and frankly I could care less about launch control and I am certainly not putting the old radio back in. I just wanted to experiment and possibly find a solution to the launch control staying at the default rpm that I could share with the other members of the forums.
Wasn’t trying to, but did you try any of the things I suggested? You asked if I did the swap as a swipe at me, meaning you didn’t want my advice - which I have listed multiple thing to do or check, of which you’ve done none. You’re looking for a quick answer and don’t want to try anything it seems. I can tell you that people that switched to the 2017 radio (not as nice, but for apple/android auto) did not lose launch control, It’s not an Alfa setting that is the problem, don’t go messing around with the chassis codes. If it’s not a 500 mile lockout, or other modules needed to be reset, then it’s because of some code that a 2019+ BCM has that a 2015-17 does not that the radio needs

Could you swap in a 2019 BCM, restore your config and then try? Maybe. But you’d have to make sure all of the wiring for ever single connector and pin in the BCM is exactly the same as your car if you don’t want problems elsewhere. You would have to make sure high octane mode and the chiller settings in the BCM are disabled, along with line lock/ trans brake because your car won’t have the wiring for the chiller, it won’t have the high octane button on the center stack, your ECM os won’t have the tables/calibration for high octane mode, and your tcm won’t have the os for trans brake

Data log of launch control from mine. Even though new radio is stuck at default of 1,000 RPM mine appears to be using the value last set on the original radio.

Very interesting! Unless you’re an m6 you don’t really want to launch above 2k anyway, looks like what you have set is where the stock converter flashes to

You are probably right. When I try 1400 it will push the skinny’s through the beam. I’m thinking about a redeye converter when I have my stock ecm and tcm massaged.
Yep, I forget what it is. I think the demon/Redeye converter is 2300 rpm or so, but don’t quote me would have to double check

I am still looking into this but haven't had the opportunity to test some things due to taking a good hit from Hurricane Ian so I'm just getting back into the swing of things. Luckily the hellcat survived unhurt. I hoping over the next few weeks I can play around we this and post any updates.
Prayers are with you man!
