I wonder how hard it would be in these days to twin the I6 and turn it into a V12, with a new block and crank designed in CAD, and double the engine management system stuff.

Electro/lefty/insano freaks would be tearing their hair out at an 8L V12 twin-turbo Hellcat.

But, in the age in which we live, it would not be hard to create. Wider crank throws, less need for balancing, possibly marginally narrower big ends on the rods, it would be a marvel of modern engineering.

you lost me, talking about angling the flat 6's together in a V8 configuration? Why not go with a flat 12? I suppose something like that is doable, I just don't see any effort being wasted on an engine that won't pass emissions and will ruin their CAFE rating when they are getting rid of those cars. I wish they would so I can get two more jobs to afford a $180K MOPAR.

How one of these Hellephant is not a no brainer for #7 I will never understand. Or maybe that’s why there’s an iron block version.

It certainly lends credit to the idea #7 could be an E85 capable 6.2L, but that also means these engines are blowing up lol. So could make sense why they go ahead and announce the crate motors as they won't be available for awhile (i.e. plenty of time to work out the kinks).

Real question for #7 is emissions. If they haven't finished tuning them, then they haven't passed emissions. That's a long Federal process from my understanding.

A new block and crank designed to make an aftermarket 60° V12. I doubt Dodge would ever do it. But, in these days of teenagers designing stuff at home with CAD software...
