So I plugged my phone into the U connect. When I get a text message it pops up on the main screen it tells me to press play to read it and the lady should read the text message. Nothing happens. But it has worked before can anyone give me any tips? I don't know how to post a picture. Thank you

Make sure voice over Bluetooth is turned on. This setting is in google maps not android auto. To do this: Open google maps. Click on your icon in the upper right corner of phone next to the microphone. Click settings in the list. Scroll down to Navigation settings (click that). Make sure "Play voice over Bluetooth" slider is on. Same with "play voice during phone calls" and "play audio cues" as well.

I have an android I don't see those options

It has to be an android phone if your using android auto. If your phone is old, the setting may still be in the Android Auto app. Make sure any Bluetooth settings are on. Newer updated phones that have android assistant have moved the settings out of Android Auto and they are now located in the Google Maps app. Mine is running android 12 so yours may differ slightly.
