Any Borla Tech's on the site?

On Thursday I had the Borla ATAK exhaust installed. (Sounds amazing!)

However, after driving about 10-15 miles my MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) came on. I called & spoke with Steve in Tech support and he said this is not an uncommon occurrence with Mopar. He said that the shop needs to unhook the simulator sensors and wait for 30 seconds, then plug them back in, then hit the run/start button and let that go for 2 minutes before cranking the car up. He said that the computer has to learn the new exhaust.

The shop did that, and again no MIL until after 15 miles or so, then it came back on. Steve had said this may happen, and if it did it would take 20-25 more starts & driving for it to go away.

Can anyone confirm that it will go away, I've started it & driven it at least 10 times now, each time 5-10 miles. The light is constantly on, but not flashing. I just don't want this light on for the duration and am looking for any suggestions.

I do not have a code clearer, should I get one & be clearing the code after each drive?

Any support on this issue would be welcomed.

What brand other than Borla comes with valves?
stainless works
Well I had them swapped out today, didn't have a chance to put a bunch of miles on it, only about 8-10, but so far no code...Knock on wood!

great news! i'm still waiting for Borla to send the updated ones out to me. So what do i need to have the installer do with the actuators? reset them or something during the install?

I spoke with Steve at Borla, he sent me a set directly from the R&D department in CA., not the manufacturer in TN. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not, but they are also reimbursing me for the re-install (I had the dealer do it this time) to be sure it was done right. I know the dealer knows how to properly seat the spring, aside from that the original instructions said that after you hook up the mid-pipes, plug in the actuators, wait at least 30 seconds, then push run, wait at least 2 minutes for the computer to learn the new parts, then start her up. They followed those procedures yesterday per my instructions based on Borla, not saying they made a difference, but so far so good!

Still good, I've got 4-5 starts off of it and over 75 miles (not much), but after just the 2nd start after having the dealership do the proper reset per Borla specs the light came on, this was after the initial install. With the new mid-pipes they sent out since then, I think we are all good now! Going in the morning to put the new Exhaust Tips on, I'll post up a pic! :)

so the light came on and went away again?
No, I've not had the light come back on since they swapped out the mid-pipes with the new ones.

I see how that read & edited the post appropriately!!!

Do you get any drone? If so, what RPM range or conditions? Is it raspy like stock? Does it have a deeper rumble than stock?

I haven't noticed any Drone, as for the sound, it's a much deeper rumble, I absolutely love it.

Still no code, and already received my refund for having the dealer swap the mid-pipes, I've got to give Borla Customer Service serious props, they expedited everything!

I hope so too!
OK. I gotta have those tips. No if's, and's or but's. Are those part of the Borla exhaust kit? Or a separate part?

Nope, just go on EBay and type in Dodge Hellcat Exhaust Tips, lots of variety. When I got them they were huge, I was worried they might not fit, but no issues and look really good! You will have to cut about an inch (measure) off the Borla Exhaust ends to make them fit right.
