I’ve had my Hellcat since 2015 and have over 100K mile on it now. I’m about to pull the trigger on ordering a Redeye but I’d be kicking myself in a few months if a Super Stock becomes available. Not quite sure how to research it but there’s some knowledgeable folks on this forum so I thought I’d start here.

Ok I get your consternation now. But the SS is a drag focused car. I think that lends itself to a challenger not a Charger so I dont think there will be a SS Charger.
BUT
In Dodge's E charger announcement video. That red car under the tarp that was last in the Dodge lineup where kuniskis picked up the tarp to show the front corner. WTF was that? I dont think it was the E-Charger. Maybe a last hurrah ICE Charger? Would they 1 up the Demon/SS challenger with a Charger to end all Chargers? Maybe
But the current line has always been Challenger is the Top racecar and is always slightly ahead of Charger.

Maybe waiting until you see what they announce at SEMA (if anything) is a good bet. One thing is certain, if they DO announce a uber charger beyond the Redeye, be prepared to pay eye watering prices.

I’ve followed some posts thinking Charger only to later realize they’re talking about 2 door cars.
Anyway. Being in my late 60s, I figure this may be my last muscle car so I want to get it right.
I just worry that if I wait a few months to see if I can order over 800 ponies in a Charger and realize it’s going to be some sort of Hybrid, it might be too late to order a Redeye. I don’t want a hybrid. But I would rather go from 700 something horses to 800 something horses if you know what I mean. Oh yeah, that’s all while keeping 4 doors for convenience, you know, dealing with car seats and stuff with grandkids and all.

100k miles, impressive! Any big issues to note during this journey? As for SS, like others said it’s a drag focused car, I’d just get the Redeye. Think of it like this, You have bigger breaks up front, little bit more stopping power for those grandkids.

Yeah. Probably gonna go that way. No real issues with my daily driver. Aside of recalls, lots of tires (not a car problem), and oil changes when the dash tells me to, I’ve only put in a battery, front brake pads, and two front wheel speed sensors. I’m about to replace one of the half shafts due to a broken boot but it’s been broken for quite a while and still no issues.

That’s really good to hear that the car held up pretty well. Dodge made a helluva car.

I would say there’s a chance they make a super stock charger. They load down the super stock challenger with all kinds of heavy equipment that has nothing to do with super stock racing. Sunroof, leather, power column etc., What’s the difference if they make a four-door version. Nobody buys them to race anyway. Who is going to race with big fat rear tires on the front? Nobody. LOL

Yeah I'd love to know what was under that blanket as well. I think dodge is going to do to the charger what Ford did to the mustang and make it a cross over all electric vehicle. Reason I think that is in that presentation on EV day they had an outline of a car and I think I have a screen shot of it if so I'll share it. But the outline was a Charger front end with a crossover rear. I wouldn't put it past dodge to do one last push with the charger. As far as the SS version goes I have no idea though. If you want a charger SS wouldn't the only real difference between a redeye and an SS be the suspension parts and maybe the tires. I mean as far as the power train goes. Idk though. I'm new to the hellcat scene really only ordered my car three weeks ago so I haven't even taken delivery yet lol not sure if I'll ever take delivery to be honest since the factory is shut down again 😭. Let me look for that picture quick so I can show you what I mean about the charger. Also from what I understand is the hellcat motor will be phased out by 2023 so if you do plan on getting a redeye or SS I think 2022-2023 maybe be the last years you can do that, if you are going new that is regardless, if you do have a hellcat I suggest holding on to it because it won't be here much longer

And I feel you on this, me personally couldn't justify paying more for the redeye vs the hc so I stuck to my charger until dodge announced the durango hellcat, by far the best kitty I've driven.

I'm also on the fence about getting a redeye vs whatever comes next. My sentiment is if it's a superstock trim I'm going to pass, I don't ever go to the drag so I'd rather have bigger brakes and tires that don't wear out in 5k miles lol

Dodge promised 3 limted run vechiles after the demon.

Which makes me think my dreams of the hellephant in one of these is out of the question.

I say keep waiting, you have until next year to order a redeye if whatever is announced is nothing new, or if they still offer the same next year.

Because if it's any car that shuts down the helliphant theory but it also shuts down them making cars faster then tesla when they go electric.

It's mostly my wish list so it could be me reading into it in a way so it fits that list lol.

But the fact that the trackhawk went away and it is not currently offered in the line up for 2022 and the hellrango was a 1 year only leads me to believe they're setting up for 2 big gas guzzler hemis like a hellephant in them. Also a rumor has it that the ACR challenger might be a thing which if it is technically speaking it can be track focused and have all the HP, yea on paper it would be slower then a Demon down the drag strip, making it slower then the demon as far as a production vechile.

There's alot that has lead me to think this way but tbh I know nothing lol

My wishlist is 2 helliphants as a farewell.

My dream would be a Hellephant Challenger Widebody Convertible in Sublime Green with M6 or the M7 from the C7 ZR1.

There isn’t a chance in hell of even half of that coming together but since we’re dreaming here….

With the ability to order 885 from some dealers this is out the window... they flat said they will never build another Demon...
