Besides the normal concerns of potential cel issues and not having cats on the car for inspection time... are there any drivability issues such as excessive fuel smell in the car or exhaust drone.

My car is a daily driver charger hellcat. I am still running the factory exhaust with no mods to the exhaust. Any feedback from someone who has run a catless mid with the complete factory catback exhaust would be great.

What is the upside to running a catless mid? Is there much HP to be gained from a basically stock car running a catless mid?

Thanks!

Great as in a little more power, or is it just a better overall sound? Can you expound on the term "great" just a bit? No emissions in my town and have always run straight pipes in place of cats. I assume we need to turn off a set of 02 sensors as well or do you guys run MIL Eliminators? I'm still new to this platform.

I believe the sound is better but some have reported drone. As far as power I’m not sure what it has given me but my main concern was for unrestricted flow when using e85 and nitrous.

Anyone notice their chrome OEM exhaust tips discoloring after removing cats?
That’s my only complaint so far.
My wife's Hellcat Charger turns the tips black even with the cats

Pitch black and stinks on 93. I cleaned them with aluminum cleaner right after switching to E. They still look brand new. Corn smell is very tolerable.

Just got the Stainless Works off-road pipes on the car, the drivers side pipe didn't clear the transmission mount which was a little disappointing so my exhaust guy had to put a small bend in the pipe for clearance. Otherwise, the pipes fit fine and the adapters made installation really easy. The car smoked like a coal burning train for about the first 10 minutes after I started it, don't know if the pipes had a coating or oil on them.

My exhaust guy was booked up today so we didn't get a chance to swap the 1794s for the longer 1795s so I'm still running the 1794's with no cats until next week and its REALLY loud. At part throttle its not too bad but once you get into about 30% throttle or more, there's no doubt its much louder. It has a little rasp in a narrow rpm range but I figured it might with the 1794's in there, hoping the 1795's will cure that and knock it down about 2-3db.

I had no idea what the torque specs are on the stock exhaust manifold to cat pipes so I called Stainless Works and they told me to use the factory specs which didn't help since I didn't know the factory specs. Even if I knew the factory specs, the problem with the flanges on the SW pipes are much thinner than the factory cat pipes which have VERY thick flanges and looks like they could withstand about 100ft lbs. Right now, I have the SW pipes torqued to 17ft lbs because any more than that, and the flanges start to bend. It doesn't appear to be leaking though.

I am catless and yes FFBOS, my Corsa tips are no longer black chrome. They are dirty in the inside (I wash this car like crazy) and the outside of the tips are turning the rainbow color that stainless steel turns when it gets heated.

Yes it gets a little smelly inside the car when the windows are down from the fumes.

The 1795 I don't believe is gonna tone it down a whole bunch compared to the 1794. It's only 6" longer and of the exact same outside body diameter.

17950 is the big body bottle 1795 and probably would muffle it down a bit. Then there's the ultraquiet SS.

I contacted Vibrant and got their tech support, Aaron told me that the 1795's would probably not be enough to reduce the volume from the cats being removed and that the 1795's are only about 2-3db decrease from the 1794's, he recommended the 17950's. I still think I may try the 1795's first before going to the 17950's.

Right now the exhaust is so free flowing that most of the rasp I hear feels like its coming right at the tips. Its so darn loud that it feels like I'm driving a top fuel dragster at WOT. The engine feels like it revs easier though, maybe slightly quicker, just feels smoother throughout the rpm range.

I am definitely tuning in for updates on your setup.

I'm holding out on exhaust work pending results.

I'm afraid to delete...then end up needing to go catless and have to redo it all...

I'm swapping mine next week so I'll update then. I went ahead and ordered a set of 17950's, I may just go with them.

I had JBA catless mids on my challenger. Currently back to stock until I go in for the cruise control recall

The smell was pretty bad if you are behind the car

even more soot build up on the tips

Sound was glorious. In all forms of driving, there was more noise inside the car. in street/eco mode there really wasn't any drone at highway speeds. custom, sport, or track mode and it kinda droned. When I went back to stock, it felt like the car became silent.

Only other issue, was my exhaust valves rattled really bad with the JBA midpipes to the point where it was embarrassing and sounded like something was severely wrong with the car. since going stock, I have only noticed the rattle twice.

Power, I couldn't feel any difference, however, a friend of mine also has a 2017 challenger hellcat that we both bought on the same day from the same dealership. On the same dynojet dyno, a few days apart from each other, my car with the JBA midpipes and a flowmaster intake made 30hp more than his car did with just a KN drop in filter.
