Got the 17950's installed today and they're PERFECT. I wouldn't recommend them on a stock car since they lower the volume quiet a bit but they're the perfect compliment to a catless setup if you can't deal with the 2k-3k rpm resonance. Under part throttle, the car now sounds just about identical to a stock car with only 1794's installed. Under full throttle, its slightly louder since the catless setup is still unrestricted.

I really have to thank tech support at Vibrant, I told the tech exactly what my setup was and what I was trying to do, he recommended the 17950's and they're spot-on. Very pleased with this setup right now.

I had JBA catless mids on my challenger. Currently back to stock until I go in for the cruise control recall

The smell was pretty bad if you are behind the car

even more soot build up on the tips

Sound was glorious. In all forms of driving, there was more noise inside the car. in street/eco mode there really wasn't any drone at highway speeds. custom, sport, or track mode and it kinda droned. When I went back to stock, it felt like the car became silent.

Only other issue, was my exhaust valves rattled really bad with the JBA midpipes to the point where it was embarrassing and sounded like something was severely wrong with the car. since going stock, I have only noticed the rattle twice.

Power, I couldn't feel any difference, however, a friend of mine also has a 2017 challenger hellcat that we both bought on the same day from the same dealership. On the same dynojet dyno, a few days apart from each other, my car with the JBA midpipes and a flowmaster intake made 30hp more than his car did with just a KN drop in filter.
Did you have any codes? I'm having issues with mine and being told I may have voided my warranty and could burn up my cylinders.

What codes are you getting? I find it hard to believe that catless midpipes will cause damage to the engine

The only codes I got were for catalyst efficiency. Car ran great with the midpipes on and no tuning. I have them back on now along with fuel pump, injectors, intake, and a 2.85 litens pulley. currently working with [email protected] on the flex fuel tuning. Car is a monster

I was getting p0420 and p0430 but they went away with the spark plug non foulers and it has gone back and forth with p2096, p2098 and p2096 is back. No MIL light this time but if I diagnose it comes up. I had a mesh filter and steel fillings in the bung then took that out. Put a much less breathable filter and steel wool. Was good for 2 weeks then it came back on Tuesday.

The post catalyst fuel trim lean code I’ve seen come up on other cars with o2 spacers.

Best way to not have a cel with midpipes is to get a tune

It comes back within minutes but I haven't gotten underneath to play with it. Just a p2097.

I know this thread is a bit older, but wanted to chime in for relevance in the event that anyone (like me until yesterday) is still considering this.
I like deep muscle exhaust, not loud exhaust.
I wanted to maintain no drone at highway .
This was achieved yesterday in 45 min, 120$ later. I cannot recommend enough. On my charger hellcat, the exhaust valves were after the midpipe, so, it still maintains quit in eco, while track mode unleashes the beast. Im sorry I didn't do this to my SRT Charger when I had it. Cheers guys

I know this is 4yrs old and you don’t own it anymore but did you get any sound clips? I’m headed down the same path. I don’t want drone at highway cruising.

Guys I'm gonna echo what many on this forum say. there's absolutely no reason to remove the cats unless you're full time big power racing. there are 1200 wheel horsepower Hellcats running around on the streets through the converters. I'm all 4 telling the government and the EPA to go f*** itself but there really is no need to take these off and cause yourself a headache.

Modern cats are not like the cats of old. Everyone thought I was nutty for boosting S550 Mustangs through the cats, but folks don't seem to understand that yanking the cats doesn't give 40hp anymore. They might give 10. Modern catalysts also don't disintegrate in high heat (aka boosting) like the old ones did either. So, you're not at risk of ejecting the catalyst out the tailpipe unless you're running some odd type of lead or nitro or something.
