I think, with the hammer head shark comment, they are saying that they will eat all the other sharks (competition) out there. Pretty stupid analogy none the less."We will not sell an electric car." "We will sell a full battery eletric powered muscle car by 2024"
"Love us Millennials. We're not just for boomers look we're hip and cool."
Hammer head sharks? WTF are you talking about?
The whole thing was muddled and cringe.
I thought it was really cringy. Dodge can lie to you and tell you that they're selling electric for performance purposes, but that's not being honest with the consumer. It's solely because the company is failing to meet government emissions regulations and that Dodge will have to comply-or-fold. Simple as that, and it's really communistic. All Tim K was saying is that Dodge is not selling EV, the technology; they’re selling performance.
Wow. Totally different read.I watched and I loved it (the Dodge part at least, I only stayed for that). I wouldn’t overthink it. All Tim K was saying is that Dodge is not selling EV, the technology; they’re selling performance. And since they know their buyers want even more performance, and they’ve run up against the performance limits of ICE technology, they are making the transition. They’re not fetishing the technology, it’s simply a means to an end.
That to me is no different than the manual vs auto or N/A versus supercharger or turbo debate. Dodge is saying, we don’t get caught up in that. We’re laser focused on performance. And if we know our customers (and we do), they’ll hop aboard.
And you know what? They’re right when it comes to me. I’m sold, and excited for what’s next.
Emissions are certainly A factor. I’m saying they’re not the ONLY factor. And that Dodge knows their customers and that many - but certainly not all - will be down for an EV car that gives them even better performance. I don’t intend to buy a Tesla. I will almost certainly buy the Dodge Hammerhead (or whatever it’s gonna be called).I thought it was really cringy. Dodge can lie to you and tell you that they're selling electric for performance purposes, but that's not being honest with the consumer. It's solely because the company is failing to meet government emissions regulations and that Dodge will have to comply-or-fold. Simple as that, and it's really communistic.
Stripped of the implication he was insulting his loyal customer base, I agree. I don’t think he sees us as knuckle draggers.Wow. Totally different read.
To me he was saying, look we know our traditional customer base is literally dying and that any future we have is with millennials. But, don't worry combustion engine loving knuckle draggers, you will still be able to do burnouts.
I think they are going to go hybrid, so you can charge the car with the brake pedal, to some extent. That alone would increase around-town mileage. Also, going down long hills at a slow speed, (no faster than you can charge the batteries) could be useful on the highway. A bank of very healthy capacitors could absorb the excess and use it to charge the batteries at leisure later, as an alternative, and super capacitors are getting some pretty amazing capacitance stuffe into a small package.Gonna really suck for all those people who don't have access to charging stations.
No offense taken here. We are knuckle-draggers.Stripped of the implication he was insulting his loyal customer base, I agree. I don’t think he sees us as knuckle draggers.
I am.No offense taken here. We are knuckle-draggers.
Lol, okay.I am.
I wasn't saying Dodge was insulting the customer base.
I was.
Myself included.
