Like the title says lately I’ve noticed new members signing up to try and milk the cash cow here for way over market value. I mean it seems counter productive to me for people to come to the very place where people know almost everything about Hellcats (including current values) and try to flip their cars for big money. On the one hand it makes sense though, sort of. Go fishing where the fish congregate. But on the other hand coming on here where most people know better and asking current new MSRP money for a two or three year old car when new ones can be had below MSRP with Jake seems off. Yes the current market is insane and yes there is a concentrated bunch of enthusiasts here but for some reason for me personally it seems odd to come to where the most knowledge is asking brand new 2022 money for a two or three year old Hellcat. Actually higher because 2022‘s can be had at 4% below invoice so I just dont get it. Maybe I’m just cranky tonight lol.
Rant over.

You can't blame someone for taking a shot, but I just ignore them. Also, Durango Hellcat for sale. $125k, firm.
Def dont blame them for taking a shot. But here seems weird. People here are informed. I dont think I could go on a forum as a newbie and open with “have car, asking ridiculous money, didnt do my research” lol.

$125k for ur Durango? I’ll take a dozen lol.

They come in here from all over the country, never heard of Jake or the deal we get, then try to sell their car. Mistake on their part but they are trying in the right place, just wrong price. The thing that irritates me more than anything else is some of them rack up their 40 posts in a day digging up every old thread they can find from 10 years ago & answering them like they are current just so they can post their car for sale. 🤬😡🤬😡

Personally I’d almost swear the market seems to be softening a little. Seeing some cars on line not selling and some price drops finally happening. Maybe these people are not selling like they expected them to and last ditch effort try this forum. Could just be the seasonal adjustment going on.

I think it’s the seasonal thing. The rest of the market is still insane. Wholesale auction prices were absolutely bonkers yesterday at the auction we go to. Over retail. Ive never seen anything like this.

That's why I'm not upgrading at this time. My 2019 still looks like a new one and it still checks off all my boxes.

If the media is to be believed at all, one was saying the prices may go a bit higher now due to hurricane IDA flooding and destroying many cars down south which will bring used car pricing even higher than what it already is.

- So long as this chip shortage continues, the shortage of new cars on dealer lots will continue.

If you want to get out of a Hellcat and get something else I can see the point.
I, however will not be without my Hellcat as long as I can safely drive.
Selling it would be crazy as I would just have to buy another, which would cost much more.
Besides, I have my 2020 Hc set up just the way I want it.

This is where the moderators should step in. Instead they seem more interested in deleting my posts with funny memes in them because they contain the F word. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Some people don't want to wait weeks and weeks for a new one so they buy out of convenience and overpay for what they can find.
There is a name for people like that..

I work in insurance and we are expecting as many as 500,000 vehicles being damage by recent storms which will stress out an already difficult auto market.

Where I am, (Kentucky) things are getting better. There still aren't alot of new cars on the lots but it's better than it was, and used cars are everywhere. Some places recently started discounts again. My wife wanted a new car & just last weekend we went & bought her a new Lexus for $10,000 off MSRP. While she did have some previous employer discounts (she's retired) they surprisingly gave her evey discount & incentive they could. Still got a really good trade in for her old car as well. At least in my area it's slightly better.

I'm going to have to stop responding to posts on the FB Hellcat Community anymore. Every time someone asks where to get a deal on a hellcat, I refer them to Jake. Then random people jump in to comment shouting me down, calling me a liar, asking for papers, tax returns and my first born's birth certificate or it's fake news.

Then I click the link to their profile, and find out they are trying to sell something along the lines of a 2016 Hellcat with 45,000 miles for 85k.

Seems like everyone has an agenda!
