I just got mine a couple days ago, the valet mode has a pin i can enter and it says its in valet mode until pin is entered, but i feel like i can still drive the car fine?I got it on my Charger two weeks ago. Pros, I would say the biggest is that it would be really difficult to even slowly drive off with the car, the second you give it any gas, the engine dies. And depending on what kind of functionality you want, could be considered a Pro or a Con, the security mode is only enabled until you put the code back in once, you would have to go enable it again before it would ask for a code again. In other words, once enabled, it doesn't stay enabled perpetually every time the car is on, only until you enter the code once to disable it.
I would say it is definitely worth getting done, unless you really needed the original Valet mode, but in my case, it's not like there is anywhere I would go in WV that has valet service that I would need it LOL.
If yours will still drive, then the dealership incorrectly did the update. The same happened with me the first time. I had to get the part# from @DodgeCares to give the dealership to make sure they did the correct update. After I gave the dealer that information, they performed the update successfully. As @Squidvicious said, once you have the new mode enabled, the car will die when you give it gas to pull out.I just got mine a couple days ago, the valet mode has a pin i can enter and it says its in valet mode until pin is entered, but i feel like i can still drive the car fine?

You are correct, you only need to enter the code after you have activated it. As far as being defeated when the battery is disconnected, I am not sure if it does the same as normal valet mode, but I haven't tried testing it by unhooking the battery, I honestly don't want to wipe out all my settings to find out.So I would only need to enter the code if I activated it, right? I'd hate to have to punch in a code every time I drove it out of my garage.
I just read that valet mode is disabled/reset if the battery is disconnected. When this also be defeated by simply unplugging and reconnecting the the battery?
They're just going to disconnect the battery for 5 mins by default now or reset a module via obdii I hope I'm wrong 😪The battery must be disconnected for 5 minutes to reset the current Valet Mode or the replacement 5 HP Mode. But the thief would not know the 5 HP Mode is set until the car is started. The engine starting should provide an alert. Once the engine start is heard and not being able to drive off very quickly and the engine quitting when accelerated, the thief most likely won't have time to wait 5 minutes after disconnecting the battery (if they even know this).
So happy to hear that @JRod310 . Should this or any other concerns arise in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out!I got my 2021 Redeye updated last week. No issues thus far.

Can I ask my Dodge dealer to update my 2016 HC Challenger, or do I have to wait?
