Recently picked up my 22RENB. I was slightly worried about build quality given the possibility of employee turnover during shutdown. Has anyone noticed anything?

I found a couple minor things.

1. After driving 600mi home I found the neg terminal on the battery was never tightened. When I saw it I picked it up and it came right off. I had to wait hours for the UConnect to come back. The terminal needed maybe 6-8 turns to tighten, obviously it was just dropped in place. I am surprised it made it home without problems.

2. The passenger seat belt was twisted ½ turn. I had to unbolt the lower connection and flip it, and flip the buckle on the belt.

Aside from that, everything looks great! I think the panel alignment and gaps are better than my 2020 (on which I had to make some adjustments to the hood stops).

Anyone else notice anything that we should check?

I had a couple issues with my 21... tires on wrong way, LED in steering wheel did not work , left filings from the hood pins and still concerned about a 1/2 shift issue or timing pull from 1/2 shift? ... reset the battery like suggested and going to test and tune tomorrow.
Last one worries me the most because not positive how to prove it.

Mostly still love the car.
( Yes I know not a 22 )

Check all of your oil and trans cooler fittings. There have been quite a few over the last two or three MY’s that were improperly seated and come off as a result. Including mine. Makes quite the mess.
Check them.
And ya my 1/2 shift kind of sucks too.
Also not a ‘22 but still relevant.

you can see the nose fall on the 1 2 shift and the mile MPH is below most other redeyes same day same track when ever it goes out.

Some butting heads butt end point is it goes 10.5 at 129 with a 1.5 60 foot.

129 is SLOW for at sea lvl redeye and MPH the driver does not control it is weight/Hp.

so you do not need to go digging through some crap... some of it mine. :)

It's an assembly line built vehicle, it will have issues, I've never had one with good gaps, flawless paint or other minor issues. My last one had a terrible paint repair on the deck lid, I just accepted it since it's a $30k vehicle with $60k in options. I believe they all run down the same line regardless of price, and you're right, covid probably makes it more challenging.

I'd be happy if they could just deliver the damn things.

I may have titled this............... Anyone notice quality control issues on anything/everything in life????????? It took me years, but I've come to realize that there are no GOOD or BAD places. It all comes down to the person doing the work on that day, at that time. Is he detail oriented and cares, or just having a bad day? So like JS said above, "it's not if but when" to use a cliche'.

If you can put it up on a lift and carefully look everything over, it is well worth it. I've never had any serious problems with any of my Challengers, just the typical minor things that I can fix myself and avoid the dealer at all costs.

Most of the issues mentioned here are really absurd. These cars aren’t cheap, and they’re SUPPOSED to go through a thorough inspection in which one employee spends several hours with the car. The fact they a loose battery terminal escaped not one, probably several employees’ eyes baffles and infuriates me. Also, they’ve been building this same exact car, with minimal change, for years now. Hundreds of thousands of examples. Why can’t they get panel fitment down? I have no issues with my ‘21 SP, but now I can’t wait to get my impending JB a good looking over.

I, too, am considering a new HC. Any reason you pulled the trigger on a 2022 instead of waiting on the final year 2023? I know you already had a Hellcat so why not wait? Just curious since now I have to wait for the 2023 model. Sorry it's a little off topic from your post.

I think there are many of us that think there will be a high demand for 23's causing prices to be high and we just wanted to beat the rush. I expected 23 to be full of overpriced special editions but I did not expect Dodge to test the special edition market in 22 like they did with the Jailbreak. Seeing how popular the JB is and how many people seem happy to pay MSRP, I would expect Dodge to make lots of Special Editions in '23, and I don't expect them to be cheap!

My '22 RE is nearly perfect except for a warped door molding. I'm leaving it alone. I can live with it. One of my former Challengers had the same issue and the dealership screwed everything up and broke a panel trying to replace it.

On that loose battery cable might just be a dealer doing a reset and forgetting to tighten it back up.

I thought something like that, or disconnecting it while it was stored for weeks but it was not just loosened, it was fully unscrewed, it took 6-8 full turns to tighten it. I figure that is how it came from the vendor and they just drooped the cable on, and maybe it was someone else's job to tighten it. Makes me think I should check the other end.

Woah, woah - seriously? How the hell did that happen on a new car?
Who knows. Like I said, I had an identical issue on my 392. Pretty hard to explain, but the liner that goes around the door is just out of shape for about 2 in. It doesn't really affect anything functionally, just aesthetic. I'm not going to let the dealership touch it this time. I'm known for letting little stuff go rather than take it to the dealer so they can screw it up more.

Like the insulation? Can you post a picture of this? I’m thinking it’s gotta just be extreme heat or pooled water that did this?

Upper right portion. Actually it's a lot better than when I first picked it up. I guess I can heat gun it but I'll give it some time to relax. Apparently all those liners come folded in boxes and need time to straighten out. The window doesn't actually seal against that part so it really isn't an issue functionally.
