HELLO, once again i have returned to the hellcat gods for advice insight info ANYTHING.

story is kind of long but this is (CRAZY TO ME)

today i visited a dodge dealership in Turnersville NJ. My purpose was originally to order a brand new hellcat challenger NON WB. I entered spoke with a salesman and immediately was seated to speak with the manager after talking to him “which wound up being pointless” we went off to build my car (wont run spec because it’s pointless)

after building the car i was expecting the dealership to ask for deposit at which i had brung 20k CASH i was homeless in 2019 (now age 22) nobody i knew growing up has EVER had a new car so i had no idea how this process goes. ( i wanna clarify that i have amassed enough cash to purchase the car out right). But

salesman came with paper work for credit app ( i went with the flow) and decided i would finance

After discussing the deposit i was informed that the 5k was non refundable :( I asked about INCENTIVES. He said something about 750$ Off LOL and then FAILED to identify ALL but explained a few dealer fees that exceed 2,000$ EASY 750 for TINT 750 for STRIPE install and a few more! I was disgusted

I considered financing because of the 0% APR that was listed on the DODGE website HE PULLED UP. I then asked was that available he said with hellcats its “VIN SPECIFIC” and i had to order it to FIND OUT MAN WTF!!!!???????

after that i got weirded out and immediately decided to “I’ll think about it” he then got his manager who said “ if i ordered the hellcat” The 5k would be ( HE LOWERED HIS VOICE AND SAID “REFUNDABLE BETWEEN ME AND YOU”

WTF IS A BETWEEN ME AND YOU?
Have any of you experienced this when ordering A HELLCAT?? Or any new car?? The hellcat has been my dream car since 2014 (pre development). But when it comes to these DODGE DEALERSHIPS something dishonest is always going down

Dealers can be whores. Like Normandin here in San Jose. Actually had a good experience at Lakeland Dodge. Shop elsewhere.
hey thanks for reading and the input, i passed on this hellcat challenger while on vacation in arizona all because I didn’t wanna let the dealership get greedy and beat me out of 4k on a used car. With the price of this dropping to a low of 55,347$ I immediately tried to buy but dealership purposely ignored my calls because i did not want to pay them the 60,000 they were asking 3 weeks prior and sold it to some guy for listing (55,347) the market is so crazy rn dealerships are acting like asses pretty much it’s like if you don’t wanna let them rob you they don’t wanna do business with you

I'm glad you had enough wits about you to take a hard pass on a shady sales pitch. It's just not a good time to buy a car. Be patient if you can stand it. You've already waited a long time since 2014, something has to give at some point....then they will be trying to give them away again. Remember the "Power Bucks" promotion?

You're only 10 hrs away from Lexington KY. Might be worth the effort to talk to Hellcat Jesus.

yes i do in fact i have screen shot the hellcat market from pre auto economy downfall all the way to right now. It’s insane these cars are selling close to MSRP! And you are completely correct i am just gonna have to sit it out and wait. The market is completely insane and no dealership is gonna “between me and you” me
Just hoping i get my hellcat atleast 1 year before the c8 z06 is available because thats another car i have to order. Also thanks for the advice

Here’s my story for you:

I was interested in ordering a vehicle (Non-Dodge) from a dealership in Houston, I’m in Dallas. They promised me msrp. They sent me a quote for $5k more than what they originally said they’d do. I told them I’d pass because they didn’t stick to the price we agreed to. A few days later they reached out to me again about ordering a vehicle. I asked them to send me the numbers so I could make my decision. This quote was for $10k over. I literally laughed out loud. I sent them a message that I would never include them in a vehicle search again….

I live 2 miles from Turnersville Dodge/Jeep. I wouldn't buy a can of oil from the parts department, much less a car. I have shopped most southern New Jersey dealers and they all act like they are doing you a favor by stealing your money. Turnersville Dodge, Mt Ephraim Dodge, Cherry Hill Dodge, Atlantic Chrysler are all basically the same owner, different management. They all play the same game. This time I traveled to Souderton Pa. to buy from Bergey's Dodge. They offered the same deal as "hellcat Jesus" and I only traveled 75 miles. That made for a nice ride home to break in my new Challenger, via the long way and back roads, I had 125 miles when I pulled in the garage that night.
Keep searching and don't fall for the B/S. Good luck.

A couple thoughts...it's not the dealership's job to inform you how to save the most money and efficiently navigate the process. Very few of them do (there are some good ones out there, but even those will not always offer you the best price unless you have knowledge of the process and know how to negotiate). Be informed before you walk into the showroom. There are a lot of posts on this site to give you an idea of what sort of savings can be negotiated at a good dealer. And the dealer was correct, you cannot lock in a financing rate on an ordered car ahead of time (at least that's been my experience).

And...I'm wondering how you went from being homeless 2 years ago to being able to afford a hellcat now and a new Z06 a year from now?

Most, but not all dealers are opportunists. Their job is to separate you from your hard earned money. I have learned this from the 60 plus cars I have owned. A little or even substantial profit is usually not good enough for them. When they found out they could get away with crazy fees and market adjustments they went at it like a freight train. Woman seem to really get it because a lot of dealers see a victim coming thru the door, not a customer. I am glad some of you have had good experiences and I have even been pleasantly surprised, but most are 2 faced snake oil salesman. Ouch!

Yes 9 out of 10 dealers are out to rape you both coming and going and coming back again. They have adjusted tactics in this new market on how to wring more money out of you. The newest scams are all the forced aftermarket. A dealer local to me made news here by forcing their customers to buy a $500 covid spray for the interior of the cars. They claim they would spray the inside with this special covid killing spray when the cars came in, then the cars were sealed until sold. They would of course add the "cost" of that spray to the ADM. Along with vin etch, nitrogen fill in the tires, cheap window tint, Kahu which is a shitty Lojack thing that plugs into your obd2 port as well as anything else they could scrape together and package up. In total they were adding their "advantage" package to all cars for $2995 and you had no option to take any of it off. And on top of that they have a dealer doc fee of $995 and no car was to be sold for less than sticker.

Or you can see Jake at Dan Cummins and get a legit deal for under invoice and no games for any forced aftermarket.

damn and i thought i had it bad, last month i “bought” a c7 corvette z06 in texas. After doing some of the paperwork (some wasn’t finished) they told me they wanted me to WAIT and they were gonna MAIL the paperwork that i needed to sign. I attempted to put a 25,000$ deposit down for them to HOLD the car. They denied the deposit told me to “INSURE MY CAR TO MAKE IT MINE” like a fool i did and the day of me getting ready to fly out they sold it to some guy in Louisiana who bought it from under me (WHILE INSURED IN MY NAME). He took it home and it got TOTALED by that hurricane they had LOL KARMA

Not only did the market get BAD but the whole process has become toxic! I don’t wanna have a permanent scar when it comes to my dream car. Im
Gonna just find something used For my 23rd birthday and order a c8 z06. The dealers there usually ignore you when your young but they’ve never tried to rip me off tho

Well before I ordered my Charger hellcat from Jake, I attempted to buy a 21 charger scat from a local tampa dealer. All went well and they actually sold me the SCAT for affiliate pricing that I had access to. The deal was done and I was home with the car that day, but an hour later the GM called me from the store saying they made a mistake and were not allowed to sell me the car for less than sticker. I told them tough tiddays and they threatened to call the cops if I didnt bring it back. I told them we had a deal and the papers were signed, and if the tables were turned and I wanted to return the car they would tell me sorry charlie. They didnt like that and said they were sending a few guys to my house to pick up the car. I responded with something like I hope they are vaccinated against lead poising or I would be careful about coming to my home address with the intent to basically steal my new car from me.

keep in mind I had put down a big chunk of cash and financed the rest at 1.9% with my 797 fico score. So I was completely done here, this was not an issue on my end. They were having sellers remorse and I would soon find out why. I had heard the salesman tell me that someone was coming later for my car if I didnt buy it as well as the other SCAT they had, so I needed to act fast. Which I did...

Well back to the end, after all the bickering and malicious back and forth I decided I wanted a hellcat anyway and was going to give it back to them. I drove it back, they handed me my $10k in cash back and ripped up the paperwork and the GM hid in the back refusing to come out and talk to me. So home I went. Little did they know that I had access to the Uconnect app and I could see where the car was. Not two hours later, it was in a totally different part of our area and stayed there for the next week - aka the new owner's house. Im betting they paid over MSRP for it too. Oh well. I had to call the Uconnect people the next week and have it removed from my account.

Long story short this dealer not only reneged on the deal, but threatened to steal my car back. They are shady dics and I have told everyone local I can find not to deal with them. And it worked out because I have a 21 Charger HC WB coming from Jake any day now, and its almost a better deal than the SCAT was but with 232 more hp...lol

i can agree, i bought my SRT 392 from a Range rover dealership and it’s honestly insane how great that process was. I had no idea that dodge dealerships were so evil they literally put the HELL in HELLCAT 😂

Im only 22 (after previously being homeless) i live by one rule only. If it doesn’t feel right it aint right and yesterday i kinda developed my first bit of HATE towards the DODGE brand.

wow bro thats tops everything for me! I am shocked that things like this actually happen with these dealers. Like i said im only 22 im the first of my family to be in this kind of position (both my parents were hood rat losers) they didn’t and NEVER even had a car. So i had no idea things like this where happening.

if you don’t mind me asking tho what color did you choose for your WB hellcat??
