I have not had the diff brace. I have heard many others swear by them however. I have tried about every tire on my 20 redeye and now 21 SS. I always go with a drag radial on these cars. Anything else is a waste of power. The Mickey Thompson’s stick about 🤏 better, but the nitto’s will last a bit longer on the street. Both are as good of tires as others, maybe better IMO.

The diff brace is what I call the Best Peace of Mind part for racing my Hellcat.
The Redeyes certainly were built stronger and if you aren't going to launch on a track you may be fine. I've seen stock Demons break the Diff at the track.

I've seen many members love the Nittos R2
I used the Nittos 555 rs before I started using the MT ET rs for the track!

At The Track,Nitto's love to be heated with a Big Ole Smokey Burnout .....That was fun!

The DIRS diff brace is definitely recommended and will protect that rear end.

The Nitto 555R2 are pretty well rounded tires. They last decently, are fine in the rain, handle corners decently for a drag radial, and traction isn't too bad.

Depending on the type of street surface I have hooked as low as a 2nd gear 30 roll with just slight minimal slip and go, while a 40 roll I could dead hook and go. Some streets were traction seemed difficult to grab, the tires would break loose on a 40-50 roll hit so it can be hit or miss. All these test runs were done on my stock powered Cat and you have a Redeye with 3.09s so I duno how good your hook will be but this is to give you a general idea.

I would still ease into the throttle from a dig and up with these tires on the street but they are much better than the stock pirrelis for sure.

I have used these Nittos at the track and it was ok but let me down at times. They really need to be barbecued to hook. If I were you I would use these tires as your daily on the street and get a dedicated track setup with the Mickeys so you can have a more guaranteed hook everytime that you can depend on when traction is needed.

I would definitely do the DIRS if your going to run drag radials or anything to improve traction.

In my experience, 20" drag radials are an improvement if you are a fair weather driver. I bought rear replicas that were wider and put nittos on a 10.5 voxx wheel. If you daily the car and find yourself on the highway in rain, just leave the factory tire on.

Now, if you are a fair weather driver and want
better traction, a 17" with a MT SS will be life changing. You can throw the stock rears back on for road trips.

"The best" tire depends on what you want to do with the car. I used a pair of Nitto 555Rs on replica wheels as rear summer tires on my 2017 Challenger HC and they made a huge difference in daily street driving, normally hooking once into 2nd gear (A8) at 30mph or so where the factory Pirelli all-season tires needed to be in 3rd above 60mph to hook up. They also lasted reasonably well (about 10-11k miles per set) and were reasonable in the rain if you get caught in it, as long as you keep the speed down.

Other tires (e.g. MT) may be a little better on the drag strip but trade off life and wet weather performance, so it depends what you are looking to achieve with sticky new tires.

Yep from experience the tire depends on what you are going to do. Mickey’s stick the best but wear out pretty dang quick. Nitto last significantly longer and are better on the street but you really gotta heat em‘ up for full effect. Like mentioned above they have let me down when I REALLY needed them not to. But they have done well most of the time. The Rii’s have a little more tread. So if most of your seat time is on the street, then I’d say go Nitto. If you need extra insurance for track use and you don’t mind spending more money on tires, then I’d say Mickey Thompson.

The DIRS reduced wheel hop. I have not installed the cradle bracket yet. I’m on the second set of Nittos. I will buy a third. One set a year is the plan.
I was going to run Mickey’s with bead locks. I’m concerned about being over the 135mph limit with that setup. I want to keep the car stock. ie.. no tune no cage no chute.

I would do the DIRS and Nittos again. Happy with that setup.

I'm not sure about Redeyes, but I don't think having a Drag set-up would get you to 135mph. Somewhere around here is a thread posted for Redeye owners and their Dragrace experiences.

I think you would be fine running Mickey's on Bead locks, when possible having a dedicated Drag set up is really beneficial.
My husband @Top Cat always had posted that up about having a separate set-up for the strip. DR's are not too good if you get caught in the rain.

I loved running Nittos 555rs on my stock Hellcat. MT's certainly are stickier and should be ran with the brace. The Mt's will allow a better 60 ft.

Keep on Enjoying All That Fassst Fun, and Boost season is here!

Thanks Linda.
60’ was 1.595 and [email protected] rolling into the throttle. Dead hooking would be interesting. Not worth the $3000 gamble IMO

That's a Great ET! WTG! If you are doing that well I'm sure you also have pretty consistent ET's!

You never want to dead hook in these cars......Tap ....feel the hook...... smash!

The brace is good peace of mind and should be on any Hellcat that is launched hard. The Nitto 555R2 is the best daily driven drag radial but it doesn't compare to the Mickey Thompson ET Street R for drag racing.

You don’t need to turn traction control off to do line lock do you? Thanks for the info.

What will a stock redeye run with the 555 r2?
