My current car is a 2016 Charger Scat Pack with almost 80K on the dash but apparently it's still worth 28.5K and I feel like I'd be an idiot not to take that.

I don't need the Hellcat at all so plan I on waiting until the time is right to buy.

I know prices are up dramatically over the last months but how long if ever will they go back to late 2020 levels?

Thanks in advance

You're talking used prices I assume? I've seen sever people make mention of the price hikes on cars currently. Ordering new from certain places like Dan Cummins is getting people 4% BELOW Invoice + whatever the current Dodge incentive is. I consider that to be quite good.

Doubt it. Dont you know that hellcat prices directly run parallel with wood prices?
True! The more Hellcat you have, the more wood you'll have!

Prices are the same in some cases like above, incentives like power dollars I personally don't think will come back until 2022. Supply is just too short on everything now.

Do you have a contact? I thought these type of deals weren't available in the marketplace right now.

A forum connection is how I ordered the Scat Pack.

Thanks in advance

Prices will almost certainly fall. Maybe not back to 2020 levels but they will fall. Car companies generally make more cars than there is real demand for. In the end they have to offer factory to dealer and factory to buyer incentives to move inventory.

There will be a crash, eventually. The semiconductor shortage is supposedly 1.5-2 years from catching up. I’m in the industry and we’ve been full blast since the start of the pandemic so I’m blown away by the shortage. I have a couple of friends that have been the market for a new ride for a few months and inventory is extremely low. So if you can order and get a deal, I’d do that. You may not see it for 6 months but it might be worth the wait.

Hey I've seen some people blame the chip shortage for the manual orders getting shut down. This is what 2 dealers told me. How can that even be true, there's less electronics in the manual...

I think it comes down to building inventory that sells. You’ve got a higher demand for the auto so you’re not going to waste time building manuals. Semiconductors go into everything: ECU’s, brake controllers, airbag controllers, dash clusters, radios, etc. etc. Ive read Ford is funneling available parts into the F150 to keep the line moving. Other models are being scaled back significantly.

I've been saying this. They don't want to maintain the production aspect of something that doesn't give them good margins. Special order? Cool, they charge you and throw a tr6060 in your car, not a special order? Here's an a8.

Dodge is getting smarter, and since Stelantis took over SRT I wouldn't doubt its a decision made rather than a "we don't have the means to"

The new shelby being auto only was an eye opener, because it still sold despite the heavy criticism from s197 and prior Shelby owners always having a clutch pedal. Dodge is just doing the right business move, fiscally speaking.

Yes things go up, and usually come down again, but only if there is a supply. Who knows, this may continue until the 6.2 is retired which could be pretty much anytime. This just might be 1972 again.

I love the DCT on the 500. I wouldn’t switch to a manual if they offered it.

Manual orders getting put off because there is a bigger demand for automatic equipped cars and the limited supply of chips is being earmarked to build automatic equipped cars.

If you were a car maker which category of car buyer would you rather "piss off"? 4 out of 5 who buy an automatic equipped car or 1 out of 5 who buy a manual equipped car?
