That hornet was worse than I could have imagined lol. Looks like an alpha romeo had sex with a Toyota rav 4.

listening to Tim K talk, it’s like even he doesn’t believe the shit coming out of his mouth. What a terrible way to send out the brand in its final year of gas powered muscle cars so far.

Even if tomorrow brings an 7 second electric car, this IMO, has been an epic fail by Dodge, considering how great its reveals have been in the past. I hate ford and not really a big Chevy fan, but so far, I’d almost rather just get a mustang gt 500 or look into a z06 vette.

Well he said they are going to announce something Deffaning ? Like it will be a loud engine? Maybe a electric challenger with a super loud stereo that makes Hellcat noises.

Absolutely epic fail by dodge who had just been killing it for the last 7 years. Their crack marketing people have rebranded and repackaged the same cars over and over selling in record numbers. They have been force feeding us decade old chassis and platforms with fancy new colors and powertrains and we have been saying YES GIVE ME MORE. Then they do something garbage like this??????? LOLOLOL. RIP Dodge, its been nice, but its over.

It’s a commuter for the masses. It’s not for us. It wont be an epic fail I dont think. I personally hate it but the 20 something who is commuting to nursing school will love it.
Dodge is being pushed out of their core market by emissions regulations. They have to have a bread and butter model to keep them in business until they figure out they figure out how to make money with EV’s, and the compact SUV makes complete sense. It‘s the hottest segment right now.
It’s clearly not for us, it's for the masses. This sucks but it’s also not rocket science. It’s a financial necessity.

You guys realize they NEED to make vehicles like the hornet to stay alive as a company right? Chevy and Ford both have quite a few EV or PHEV's in their line ups already to allow them to continue to make fast cars. This is necessary for dodge. Its very unlikely they give up on all performance cars entirely.
You realize this was completely the WRONG audience to announce this too right?? They are at woodward and are selling this as a brotherhood of muscle thing. Its a joke.

I’m not so negative on the Hornet. It’s an affordable Porsche Macan. Stelantis and Dodge have a gargantuan task ahead of them. The government is mandating electric vehicles so they need to accelerate their investment in a new platform while not alienating their customer base.

I have a 4 cylinder Jeep Cherokee which is a nice vehicle but zero fun. I would like better mileage and more fun in similar packaging and I think others would too. Let’s give Tim a break and see what he announces tomorrow.

Its not a hot hatch. The Fiesta ST or the golf R or the Focus RS are hot hatches. This is a new style rav4 for the top knot hipster to zip to work in.
Oh I’d beg to differ. Fiesta’s, Focus’ and Golf’s should never be described as hot. ST, R, RS, dont care. Theyre hideous little buzz bombs Lol

It should have been a smaller V8 with an EV assist that could make the same or similar power to the GT350. Sit between the SCAT and HC, but be smaller and a new chassis like the camaro alpha. We've been waiting for dodge to bring out a smaller challenger at the least for the last few years. But they just keep recycling parts.
