I made the trek to Atco today. The trip took less time than expected, gps said 1 hour 40 mins ended up being only 1 hr 10, left the house at 7:15 got there around 8:30. The drive was nice, all the roads were in good shape and not crowded at all (nice thing about driving early am on a Sunday).
The track was basically exactly as I remember it from. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.
The track on the other hand is definitely in need of resurfacing, it looked pretty choppy around starting area and first 20 ft or so. If your going to be charging $100 for a normal TNT it should be in perfect condition imo. The other issue I had was there wasn't enough room to go around the water boxes, which is a problem when you have to run fullsize front tires.
Traction was definitely at a premium today. Best 60ft time I got was a 1.57 on last run of the day, and averaged 1.65s, with a worst of 1.78 in left lane the one time I tried it. I had to drop launch from 1800-1900 rpm to 1500 to get it to hook up decently. By comparison I was averaging low 1.5s to high 1.4s with 1800-1900rpm launch and dead hooks at Cecil County last few times I was there.
The crew did the best they could and were hampered by water weaping up through the surface early on down the track, and by several rain stoppages (literally 1 stinking cloud each time) averaging about 30 to 45 minutes or so.
The crowd was decent but not overcrowded. I was able to get 4 runs in even with all the delays, minus the weather I would say a 10 run day was possible.
I won all four races, 1st vs no time newer mustang of some sort, 2 vs Challenger RE-WB, 3rd vs Modded Camaro ZL1, and last vs another Challenger RE-WB it was also in Gomango 😁 (funny thing though his car was Much Much darker than mine)
All in all was a very good day and am glad I went.
