I certainly don't want to increase the odds of the crank spinning. I'd really rather be able to just pin the crank. But the warranty nazi's don't allow it. Seems bizarre since it would actually reduce the odds of a failure--especially on the 17 which is before they switched to the stronger demon bolt.If you worry about warranty then you should consider Ripatuned incognito lower damper sleeve, it fit directly over your stock engine damper, they claim 1.5 to 2 lbs of boost. no need to remove the damper.
That ATI was for sale years before that MMX pulley was available. The reason for the OE ATI damper is it fits the MMX 15% UD accessory pulley, all without affecting boost levels.
Then let me rephrase that. My reason for wanting the ATI OE damper is that it is needed to use the MMX 15% UD pulley. That ATI was for sale years before that MMX pulley was available.
It came out because people will spend money for zero performance gain thinking they need to upgrade a factory part that was deemed unreliable.....
I understand, just sounded like you were explaining the existence of the ATI OE damper product--which sounds like is pretty pointless from the outset, which I understand and mostly agree with. Just clarifying that I do have a specific purpose that actually does require it.Wasn't attacking brother lol
