You lose pretty much all functionality if the Ravelco plug is removed.
it’s all retained if plug left in.
Sooooo, you could leave the plug in and retain remote start if you feel otherwise secure. I.E., locked and secured garage. You could still do other things… turn tires, set parking brake, disable remote entry, etc.
It’s a judgement call.
I feel my Scat is secure as can be in my setting.
Still, I ALWAYS remove the plug. Remote start was never a need in my end.
Another thing not mentioned as a Ravelco plus: If carjacked, you could pull (and perhaps toss) the plug. This will shut the car down instantaneously.
The plug re-insertion positioning is quite specific in orientation. Most carjackers would probably not dedicate the precious time to figure it out.
Of course, doing this may have other unforeseen consequences.
But if your being carjacked, you might be hurt or killed anyway.
