Went out for a burger and a beer last night in the Hellcat and then came home.

Pulled in the driveway and locked it up as usual. I still had my Taurus out on the street and decided to do some things in the house
for a while before I moved the Taurus back behind the Dodge as I usually have it. Did my stuff and went out about an hour later to
move the Taurus. Checked the driver's door handle on the Dodge as I walked past and it opened.... wtf? I knew I locked it when I got
home a while ago. Saw something glinting on the passenger seat and saw broken glass, holy sh!t!

Ran in the house and called 911. Sheriff's deputy stopped by and took pics and wrote a report on it.

As he was about to leave, I was still looking around with my flashlight and found the passenger window that had been cut out (not smashed)
laying behind my truck. It was shattered but still stuck together in a broken sheet by the tint I guess.

So I told the deputy why the bad guy cut the window out and crawled in without opening the door, he said he's never seen that before.
I had an "AutoCYB" lock in the OBD port that the thief ripped out to access the port to program a key for the car. So much for that idea.

I'm guessing he had the key programmed but couldn't find my kill switch so he didn't get the car. LOL
He almost had it!

My dog died about 3 weeks ago, she would have been barking like crazy with the guy out in the driveway even making just a little noise.
I'm adding lights and a camera looking at the car. I can't garage it right now but I'm working on it.

I'm also going to add some more serious security measures on the car. It's going to be much more difficult to steal it.

So if anybody knows..... is there a way to re-enable the Dodge alarm he turned off? Can I remove that recently added key FOB that
he programmed for my car?

Thieves suck man!

Best to have your car flatbedded to your dealer for all repairs, enabling your Dodge Alarm and FOB reprogramming. Take all your FOBs. They'll probably re-flash all your computers.

Disappointed to hear this as I use one too. $100 wasted. Another solution would be to drill a small hole on the OBD receptacle and snap in a small luggage lock, but a thief could probably cut through the lock with tin snips or just break it off like the autocyb..

Anything that helps delay the thief is a win.... and when seconds count, it's probably better than nothing. I still think it's ridiculous that the thief was able to cut the glass and not sound the alarm.

How hard would it be to remove the obd plug from the dash and relocate up into the dash somewhere? Remove the entire port, put a lockout device on it and tuck it away up into the dash. Then install a thin metal cover in its place where it currently sits? This should add significant time to a thief trying to gain access to it.

Pretty much this.... I wouldn't even try to start the car - they could be watching you..
How did you go to sleep knowing your car is outside with a broken window. Without a garage I couldn’t do it.
I'm about to call an auto glass place to see if I can get it in today.

I'll vacuum out the glass and pull the battery cables to see if the security system resets.
As long as it runs, I don't see a need to flatbed it.

Yes, I'm going to check with the Dodge dealer nearby and see what they say about wiping
all of the keys from the computer and then add back the ones I have.

Absolutely it was tough having the car outside with the broken window. I knew I wasn't going
to sleep at all so I watched it most of the night out the window with a .45 by my side. lol

So I'm going to beef up security, it wouldn't surprise me if they try it again.

It's actually a pretty quiet area. We've had some trouble occasionally in the past, nothing too bad.
I'm in kind of a semi-rural area between the strip malls and the corn fields.

I have my suspicions about some little gang-bangers who visit a family down the block.
They roll past in their little ricer cars eyeing my Dodge sometimes. Nobody followed me home last
night. It almost has to be somebody locally that has been watching it.

That was one of my first thoughts, but I thought it's maybe better to leave the port but disable it.
Then the bad guy knows the port is there but has no idea what the problem is.

Sorry to hear about someone trying to rip you off. Also sorry to hear about the AutoCyb lock. But glad to know they didn't get it. And this is just more motivation for me to put in a kill switch.

When I was younger, my house was broken in 3x in the span of like 4 months....always looked like I interrupted them when I got in the house.... come to find out it was some punk wannabe gangbanger right outside the court I lived on....

Needless to say we addressed that...

Op that was definitely a wake up call. Good thing you already had a kill switch to delay the thieves and probably had them give up. Now it's time to definitely beef up security and get it in the garage ASAP as I'm sure you're already working on that.

By the way sorry to hear about your recent passing of your dog. My dog just passed away three weeks ago as well....

Hope all will be well for as you get this situation sorted out and take care my friend.

Relocate the real port somewhere hidden and install a dummy one in the usual spot. Kill switch for good measure. It'll drive them nuts and they'll leave like last night.
