Forgive me but why???

I can think of one reason why you shouldn't recut the threads with a die..

IF the threads are manufactured with a rolled thread (as I think these bolts are) you actually weaken the bolt.

Weaken the bolts? Nope.

The bolts are zinc coated and are a 2mm thread. They are chased to remove any imperfections in the zinc coating so when they are installed they mesh with the machined billet aluminum perfectly.
