Well.....my tech called me and dodge said he was not allowed to put the new supercharger on the car. Dodge claims everything is within "spec" he told me thats BS. He could barely even get 9 psi boost. Air temp today was 40 F. It should be flying in the cool air. He told me to drive the hell out of it...and it something pops...good. then he can fix it. He also said to call srt in a week and complain that it feels underpowered. Which it does. I already have 1 complaint with them. He said after 2 they will start to do something more. He basically said his hands are tied at this point since dodge claims its fine. He seriously seemed upset and KNOWS it isn't running right.

Why wait a week? Call SRT and complain now. I would also ask the dealers ownership to call the local FCA and get them involved asap. Also, some fact based emails to FCA higher ups may help. What a pain to have to mess with this. Let us know how things work out. Things have a way of working out in the end. Try not to let this issue bum you out.

ditto what he said. also email [email protected] Tim Kuniskis so he can see how you're being treated under warranty repair

so what do you have to do, get a dyno sheet and have dodge reimburse you? I had to fight with dodge to reimburse the cost to diagnoise my sequential lights at a dealer to prove that it was a failed unit. And all the dealer did was turn the signal on left and right and said "yep its broken" and wrote it on a peice of paper and sent it to FCA and charged FCA $169

I ran into the same problem with the IMS bearing on my Porsche... the dealer said they never heard of the problem and when I went there, lo and behold, cars with failed IMS bearings! I contacted SRT and asked them about the supercharger and if there were any problems. If I get the same bullsh#t I got from Porsche I will just sell the damn thing!

Yes. I need assurance from FCA that they are looking into the supercharger issue. They need to offer an extended warranty and be candid about what is wrong with them. I see the difficulties members are having with their cars and I am not prepared to subject myself to that kind of frustration. Been through it with my GTR transmission, my NSX transmission , and now this supercharger? Nope.

alinjack If you really like your Cat I would not bail out of it. In % terms the supercharger failures are quite small. Enjoy and then decide what to when the warranty is near its end. If it has not gone in five years time it is unlikely that it ever will.
Not every Porsche suffered from IMS or bore scoring but I hear what you are saying. I've never been into 911's post 1998. Air cooled only for me.

I would agree here, you still have lots of warranty left for FCA to figure out a fix, enjoy the car for the next 3 yrs worry free.

I have never driven the car. I picked it up in December and trailered it home...I just want FCA to step up to the plate and say they realize there is a problem and they are going to stand by their car. My wife had a Jetta she bought new and 10 years later she got a letter saying if the heater core ruptured it could burn the legs of her, or her passenger. Full warranty, full recall... and fixed free. I understand errors are made in manufacturing but admit it and take care of your customers! It is easy to sell now because it is winter! LOL

Your wife's situation was safety related. The SC noise is a different kind of issue and will never get a recall. Maybe a TSB some day.

Bad bearings don't lower boost.

How many superchargers have failed from bad bearings? I can't recall any. Just noisy.
