2022 charger Redeye

Hi hellcat community,

it’s a pleasure once again to dabble in the minds of the great, that think alike! (We all for the most part own hellcats/redeyes/demons/town and country’s.:D:p

I was looking to get a little more vroom and oh yeah’s out of my exhaust but don’t want to sound like a clapped out Mustang GT who thinks everyone wants to hear it from the city center to the hill country. On my Scat Pack, I had mid mufflers removed and added race bullets with resonators removed and quad tips installed. I loved the way the car sounded and cold starts where solid enough not to wake up the whole house when I went to work and parked in the garage.

So that leads me to what is everyone running or opinion or if you don’t meet either of those, tell me how your day is :) lol but seriously, what should I do with my Redeye’s exhaust???

I for one I’m happy with the factory set up on my Challenger Jailbreak…

If you want it louder then just drive it in track mode or modify your custom set up and place the transmission on track mode so it’ll open the exhaust valves…
I do this already but feel I’m still missing a few DB’s on the scale :)

Sounds very good, this just might play. Let’s see what everyone else has to say.
I wouldn't throw a catback on this car, the stock exhaust is amazing just needs a few tweaks.

This all depends on what sounds good to you and keep in mind everyone is different.

Starting with the mid mufflers

Swap mid muffler for vibrant 1794s (throaty) or just delete the mid muffler and add a pipe there (more raspy)

Zautomotive active exhaust valve delete kit (basically a plug and play kit for the valves)
This will keep your valves open all the time, it will add more bark to the car when you step on it as well as volume on idle.

Last thing is really minor but changes the sound as well, I would swap out the stock exhaust tips for Carven 5 inch tips, alternatively some like the afe 4.5 inch tips. The tips definitely change the tone of the exhaust, I would wager there is some sort of slight change in resonance or the way the waves bounce off and reverberate with a larger tip. I'm no expert on harmonics or sound waves and I thought people were imagining things by saying the larger tips sound better but it is true.

Rough calculations here
Inactive exhaust delete kit - $189
Carven/afe tips -$200-$225
Vibrant 1794s - $75 (amazon)
Labor for mid muffler delete - $100-$150

Looking at about $600 to make it sound and look good.

This provides a very good bang for buck without any added or unnecessary drone. On idle the car sounds meaner but when driving it sounds stock until you get on the throttle.

I don't think custom allows the valves to be open, I think everything has to be on track.

One of my newest complaints with dodge is why don't we get a fkn button for the exhaust? Ford does it, GM does it, bmw does it, Mercedes does it, porsche, ferrari, etc etc the list goes on and on.

Nothing the zauto plug can't fix but a little ass backwards that the valves are open cold start and close when you put it in drive. 🤨

+1 for GT haus. I also have a 2022 Redeye and I believe these CATS are super restrictive. When I first started the car it sounded like a v6. I have had 3 hellcats prior to my Redeye and my current car is super quiet.

I love a solid write up. Good read and great suggestion. AWE Is currently one I’m considering as a guy locally is sponsored by them, so I’m familiar how the car sounds for sure.
