Best Flex Fuel Complete Setup? Barth or Livernois

Can you please share your experience if you have either of these? From the research I found it appears Livernois came out with this setup first but Barth (and possibly other vendors) are a viable option for this setup.

I plan to use straight "summer blend" E85 most of the time but want to go with a flex fuel kit so Im not always hunting for a E85 station when Im traveling.

Thanks!

No Sir. I have seen plenty of successful installations with Injected.

We have been super successful and are the pioneers of the flex fuel tune and have cranked out many Hellcat's and also the pioneer's on the TrackHawk platform.

All of our shop car's and many of our customer's car's have been driven thousand's of miles with no issues and nothing but great success with #1 Driveability sure it is great to make big power and run a number but if the car drives terrible under normal acceleration or has issues with stalling or searching for the correct idle speed when you let off the throttle the big horsepower number is just that. Make no mistake we are all about power power we have a lot of combinations out there and cars running 9.40's to 10.20's on every different combo you can put together.

Feel free to comment p.m. e-mail or call me for any of your Flex Fuel needs.

Injected Engineering or Livernois are the only shops doing actual flex tunes, that I know of. Mine was done by Curt@Injected. Barth's tune is an E85 standalone tune. An actual flex tune allows you to run 91 or 93 octane and E50-90 on the same tune, no pulley swaps, no tank draining. Injected also did a TCM tune as part of the tuning package. HPTuners allows you to adjust shift points. Not sure the Diablo platform allows for that. I'm at altitude, but I think I'll be able to hit 9s with bolt-ons using the Injected Engineering tune. Here's what it looks like on a Dyno:

Wow! Very Very impressive. Being that you are in Colorado how did they tune it? I assume mail order? I bet you have a hard time hooking up on the street!

The tune is done remotely. We data log on both the street and on the Dyno, email the info to Curt, and a few minutes later he sends back the files for upload. He'll set up a day and time for the tuning.

On the street the car drives like a pussycat. Don't really punch it unless I'm at the track. At which time it becomes beastly.

Good luck!

I'm still working on the launch. This past Sunday I was able to run 10.3 at a DA of 9000+ (I originally thought the DA was 7500, but I've since been corrected) and headwind gusts of 25 MPH, and if I hadn't had a bypass valve issue on one run I would have hit 9s I think (see the slip on the left, below; car went limp after 1000ft). I'm #608. On several runs I hit 136MPH +

Every tuner mentioned in this thread is outstanding. You can't go wrong either way. If you want to go flex fuel you have only couple of options. Livernois was the first no doubt and they have some pretty awesome stuff going on. We also do a lot of flex fuel tuning as well. It's a difficult decision to make.
Curt thank you for the props. In the world in which we live in that means a lot. I must tip my hat to you as you get great feedback and are a positive vendor on the forum also.

We as professionals will never bash or say something bad about another shop. As that is just not something anyone should do. I am sure sometimes a lot of someone's decision could be swayed by location, name and reputation ability to get a hold of someone whatever the case may be. We all share the same passion for horsepower and racing.

Yes staying positive is a great thing I was Called by Injected Engineering yesterday to let me know my car was tuned and now street driving it to make sure it runs like they want it to and I can pick it up on Monday Looks like I'm on the highway Sunday out of Tampa to go get my Street Beast Gonna be a long long weekend lol

All good shops mentioned here, you can’t go wrong with any of them.
I do have true flex fuel tuning and I’m about to release it using Diablo sport. I’m putting a few more tanks of fuel through the car to insure it’s perfect before I release it.
I’ll also be offering twin pumps or the Bap. Depending on your power level.

I was at Bandimere Speedway this weekend talking with someone who mentioned to me that you have the true flex tune coming out on Diablo. I think he knows the guy whose car is the test mule on this one. That's awesome. More shops make for better competition, which leads to greater innovation.

How's the Diablo doing with the TCM tunes? Last I heard, there were still limitations in re: shift points, etc.

My mechanic is Cody Chapman here in CO. I know he's done a lot of work with you and speaks highly of your tunes. So far as I know, there's only one Hellcat in Colorado that has hit 9s, and it was a Charger running your E85 tune last season. I'm hoping to be the first Challenger, and the runs I've had so far suggest that I'm just one private track day with a DA under 6000 away.

I'm doing the Whipple 4.5 there flex fuel pump set up Kooks 2" headers and cat delete mid pipes 1300IDs pin balancer Bwoody race heat exchanger plugs brake pads low dust style Rear brace A custom NOS setup I drove mine but was only about 500 miles from Tampa I will say they care about your car I'm hoping to get it back this coming week I also of course did there tuning and trans tuning also. Shop is spotless and staff very good and if they don't answer will call you back in very timely manner Good to know when dropping your car off Car made over 1000hp but will lock in final numbers this week No NOS with that number either Just wanted the wow factor Don't think spray will be used until I build a motor and trans Just not this round Got to recover paying from this part They told me they tune for safe not sorry I want that for sure

You would still need to change to larger injectors and most likely dual fuel pumps too so in that regard, it wouldn't really be "stock" anymore. By the time you do that, you would be looking at around $3k in parts and then the price to have your PCM tuned assuming you did the injectors and fuel pump install yourself. That's a lot of money for a modest increase in power.

I agree. Think it would cheaper to get a 2.85 pulley and new tune. I already have a tune for 100 octane and a raised shift point to 6400 rpms, E85 doesn't seem like a reasonable upgrade path moving forward compared to a 2.85 pulley.

Yep, that's what I'm trying to decide right now. I'm about to have several mods installed in May, including a 2.75 pulley and ID1050 injectors, however if I ever want to use E85, I need to decide if I want to change to ID1340 injectors and dual pumps which is going to add about $3k to my upcoming mods, but if I don't make the decision now and wait until later, I'll be looking at another injector and dual pump install later and the cost of having the PCM tuned again. I could save some of that labor and PCM tuning cost upfront if I go with the ID1340's and dual pumps now.

Sigh...when does the madness stop? I said when I bought the car, 707HP is MORE than enough, I'll never need to do anything to it but drive it. :)
