That should take care of it!
$5k....the HK head unit is obviously in place and we are still trying to fine tune it with sound processors/EQ's because unfortunately the HK factory radio does not have a full range output. How much...if I may ask?...and no problem integrating to the U Connect? Is the HK completely out?...Good Move!!!
Props and many thumbs up +++ for choices and clean install / component locates. (No cooling concerns or air flow restrictions you chose some big guns re pa's?) Very trick! This is how you solve the problem with the HK system.
2-JL Audio 12" subs

Audio control LC-8 processor. Next time I pull the door panels I get a pic of the speakers. Here is a pic of the optima battery for the sound system.Which processor are you running? RF 360.3? Any pictures of the fronts? Are the fronts in stock location? I have a 12" JL sub and 600 watt amp that I am thinking of installing.
We did not get the sound we were looking for using just the LC-8. It looks like we might have to go with something like the RF 360.3 with an EQ. More money but whatever it takes to make this work with the factory deck.Which processor are you running? RF 360.3? Any pictures of the fronts? Are the fronts in stock location? I personally think that the HK systems sound like a cheap 80's boombox playing in the car (like a speaker in a tin can). I was going from 2015 GMC Denali Yukon Bose system to this I was very disappointed. I think that you should scratch the HK because it will give you too many problems if you are thinking of upgrading. Stay with the basic system and upgrade the speakers and amp. Right now we are having a hard time tuning the system because the HK was too sophisticated and sent only certain signals to certain speakers. A nightmare when you want to upgrade and can't get full range signals from the factory deck. So, should I cancel the HK option, and custom install from scratch or should I leave the HK option as is and swap it out after?
How many % better is your new system in sound quality.
You can get one heck of a system for $1995 that they want for the HK. Save your money and replace all the high/mid speakers and an amp, get some subs with another amp and you still would spend less than they are asking for the HK system.Thank you for your advice!
Now the question becomes--- how much will one have to spend to get a system that can be installed after delivery to surpass the HK Stereo?
Your install was killer and over the top!
Besides The wife tells me that I am half deaf anyway.
Have you thought about using the Audio Control DQ 61? This is what I have bought to try. It allows me to bring in 3 different left and right pairs and the combine everything and then EQ them out to 2 or 3 amps with one being specific for a subwoofer. My thinking is I can bring the front speakers in for the highs and lows, the door 6x9 "subwoofer" speakers which seem to be high lows and then the actual subwoofer. We did not get the sound we were looking for using just the LC-8.
