I’m wanting to change out the factory chrome lug nuts for black ones. I searched the forum ,but I didn’t find any recent info. So I was curious to see what people are recommending now. The last few post were around 2017 guys were using Gorilla and DP brands. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I bought two sets, 10 pcs. And divide them among the 4 wheels.

I have Gorillas on my Redeye. I emailed the rep and for the factory alloy wheels the black System lock set (20 locks, one key) is what they recommended… part number 96643BDX
I have zero complaints about them and I get asked quite often at car shows what brand I’m using.

I also like the DPAccessories LCB3D8HEOBK04020 20 Black Lug Nuts. they look very close to stock and the black matches well with the wheels

I personally use the Gorilla wheel locks (model no. 71643NBC) where every lug nut is a lock and I ordered a backup wheel lock key. So far so good.

I’ve had Gorillas for a little over a year. No complaints and the finish holds up well. I’ve taken the wheels off a few times since I purchased them and they still look new.

I put that part number in and it showed up on Amazon for $65. That seems very cheap for those.

For those that have swapped out lugs, did you lift the car and replace them, or replace with the car on the ground (replacing/torqueing the new ones, one lug at a time, star pattern) ?

I mean you always want to have the wheels off the ground when you’re sinching them in. Final torque is fine with wheel on the ground
